Well?

So what kind of vittles did you all fill your bellies with tonight?

In true minimalist Matt D tradition, I had about 5 or 6 strips of bacon, washed down with some Pepsi chugged straight out of a 2 liter bottle.

I sliced up an Aloges and put "it" on the grill for about 20 minutes. I then served it on a platter which everyone passed over to my great disappointment.

Perhaps it was overcooked?

Reheated some leftovers from last night and made the old classic dish of S.O.S. ($hit On a Shingle). I took the leftover mashed potatoes, reheated them, added some butter, garlic and cheese.

I've attempted that a few times......looked at the concoction laying in front of me, then picked it up, threw it in the garbage and went to Carl's Jr. instead.

Funny you should post this topic - I had a craving for mussels after I saw someone at the next table eating them at lunch. So I stopped at the store on the way home, grabbed some onion, some tomato, bag of mussels and a french stick...threw in a little garlic and wine...BAM! I feel like a gourmet chef.

Not a bad dinner at all tonight since I forgot to eat anything at all last night.

How the hell do you forget something as simple as eating?

I can see not being hungry or not having time.

But forgetting?

Did you lose your Palm Pilot or something?

I didn't feel like putting together the usual assortment of crap found around the kitchen so I just stopped by Wendy's on the way home and picked up a cheeseburger, some chicken nuggets, and an order of fries, right off the value menu. Yesterday evening, I had a more typical meal, a hot dog and some leftover chicken.

....mmmm.... I'm seriously thinking about steak and eggs at the all-night joint. I haven't eaten dinner yet because I'm on the evening shift. Then again, I'm poor right now so it will probably be some overcooked pasta at home.

Had a Lean Cuisine Sesame Chicken with Angle Hair Pasta. It was quite good. I was still a little hungry when I got home, so I had a piece of leftover steak from yesteray. Nice way to end the night.  Big grin

Well, I went to Wal-Mart today and I bought a stove-top grill. I then rushed to the supermarket and bought tons and tons of steak.

Anyway, to make a long story short. I made grilled steak with a heap of garlic mashed potatoes (made from scratch) and a side of Italian antipasto. I had an iced tea with the meal.

I just finished having seconds.

Diced chicken cooked in olive oil, garlic and spices, and coated with chickpea flour as it is cooked to get a nice crusty layer on each chunk. Served with long grain rice. Took all of 20 mins to make.

cheers

Threw some chicken breasts on the George Foreman grill, ate some before my workout, came back ate the rest, complimented it with a side of 'spanish rice' one of the 90 second packets you can toss in the microwave. Had it with a nice glass of Artic Wave Gatorade. Then topped it off with a succulent bag of Gushers.

The same crappy food I eat every night from the cafeteria here at school. We have a fantastic choice of Pizza, Salad bar, and grill food. Thats it.

I can't wait for a nice home cooked meal.
