I saw one hell of a roadkill on the NYS thruway (I-87) once in upstate NY.
It was a deer. The head and chest was gone and only the rear half remained. Guts, blood, bones all over the highway in the right lane. Can't imagine what was going thru the trucker's mine when he/she hit it.

I didn't go to deep into that site; I see more than enough roadkill in Georgia. I think this must be the roadkill capital of the country. There is one road that I drive down everyday where I see about 5 new dead opposum or racoons every day. It is funny because when I lived in California I would see huge numbers of live racoons, but never dead ones. But in Georgia, I have never seen a live one. I think California animals are smarter.
