Has anyone seen this movie? I'm not a big fan of most of the crap that comes out of Hollywood but this movie looks like its a definate winner. Real-world opinions appreciated.

Have not seen it yet but a friend who saw it and my parents told me is very good movie. They recommended!

Hey there,

I saw the movie two days ago, it´s really good. It tells the story of Ernesto "Che" Guevara and his friend´s trip through South America to explore their continent and meet other people. It is a very eye-opening trip for them and they learn a lot about the vast differences in the region. Also some beautiful scenery shots. I would recommend it.

Gael is by far the best actor in cinema right now. He should easily win the Oscar for the best male from this movie and also the other movie he just filmed that isn’t out in the US yet.

The movie was great. It kind of put in some questionable events like him swimming across the river and made some things way too obvious like his new found identity with the poor and struggling. He actually comes from a very political family in Argentina and he was brought up knowing very well the struggles of the poor and indigenous people which is one of the reasons he went on his trip through South America in the first place.

The cinematography is amazing and the shots of South America are incredible, I think this is a must see but I also think the book is a must read!

The life of Che Guevara is seemingly examined by modern cinematographers through rose colored glasses. LGW-Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (Germany)">HE was a brutal enforcer for Castro and was responsible for large numbers of political assassinations and outright murders at the Isle of Pines prison as well as throughout Cuba.

His star fell after his failure in the Congo and when he died in South America he was in the middle of another failure, while in exile from Cuba at Castro's direction. His rehabilitation came about with Castro simply because it suited the regimes political propaganda machine to hail Guevara as a martyr of the revoloution. The return of his body to Cuba was a political maneuver to bolster the civilian view of Castro taken with the purpose of distracting people from the fact that they live in a totalitorian state with secret police watching their every move.

No matter how beautiful the cinematography is, or how excellent the performances of the actors turn out to be.... making this movie is like making a movie glamorizing the life of a young Stalin or Hitler. It is one thing to seek understanding, but to turn a monster responsible for thousands of deaths and the installation of a dictator into a symbol for youthful ideal and zeal without balance is wrong.
