Maybe cheese just lets you remember nightmares. We actually have nightmares every single night, but we don't remember them.

Cheese, and a few other foods, contains tryptamine

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tryptamine

a psychoactive substance. Nightmares....? I suppost it's like the good trip/bad trip you can get with other drugs (I believe)

Marmite also contains it. A friend of my wife's once had cheese and marmite sandwiches late in the evening. Never again. Very strange dreams.
