OK guys.. I think I may be nuts! But here's the situation. I just barely met this girl, she's pretty cute and we get along well and all. And so she's nice and all. But here's what got my attention! I asked what her parents did.. and she mentioned that her Dad's a pilot! This got my attention.. so I asked a little further. So here's the skinny:
Her old man flies for Erickson Air as a wildfire pilot. He flies the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane!!! I mean, wow! If I was part-way interested before.. I wanna date her now just because I know I can get along with her old man. Us aviation geeks will have plenty to talk about! And maybe I can get a ride in the Sikorsky!
OK, so am I crazy? I mean.. wow. this is a new low for me.. lol. Have any of you wanted to get to know someone better just because of their parents? ROFL! My first thought was, let's skip the formalities and just run off to Vegas!

Actually, yes....many a time.
The most recent was lately. I grew up with this girl, Courtney...her dad was a Marine F/A-18 Hornet pilot in my dad's squadron, also a Hornet pilot. We must have known each other since we were 2 months old, and our familes were often stationed at the same base, so we knew each other well.
Anyways, so we hadn't seen each other in about 10 yrs...I heard from my mom that she was going to my college, UCF...so I looked her up, and got in contact...went on a date, and daaaaaamn...what a difference 10 years can do....everything was in the right place, and right proportions so to speak. The date was shit-hot, sure, but this was the cincher...her ex Hornet pilot father is now a Check Airman on the DC-10 for FedEx...SCORE. So anyways, we've been going out here and there, but since we got to hanging out, I got in touch with her dad, who is *thrilled* that she's seeing a future airline pilot herself...he's mentioned that I'd get some help if the time ever comes that I want to apply to FedEx..so I'd better keep her happy

I more then willingly try to befriend someone because their parents is or are pilots. this is sad I know but I am just trying to nework my connection should I need help to apply for an airline pilot job later in life.
But I have never been so lucky as to have my girlfriend with a pilot dad/mum.
