I wonder if somebody can help me with this.
I am going over to the US to get my commercial license. Now the flight academy takes care of all the visa stuff. So that is not the problem.
Now my girlfriend would like to come over for a year to work and live in the States with me.
Can anybody give me some information about how to aply for one, what do you need, how long you can stay etc. Are there any good websites with good explanation on what to do as I have tried the Dutch embassy and the US sites but it is all a bit weird. Lots of stuff but not what I need to know.
Obvioulsy I have about two months time to sort out or find a job for her. Unles their are any good organisations who deal with this kind of stuff.

Your girlfriend is :
a) Not eligible to work in the United States unless she is otherwise eligible for a temporary work permit (eg. H-1B) in her own right; and
b) Not eligible for any derivitave status unless you are married, so not only will she not be allowed to work but she will also not be allowed to remain with you in the United States.
Sorry, but thats just the way US immigration law is.
