Isn't it funny? The name of the new US Secretary of Education is "Margaret Spellings". Is that a coincidence or what? Big grin

And people will learn to spell "hangar" instead of "hanger"!

Color: from the latin word color, coloris. Favor: from the latin word favor, favoris. Notice the lack of an "ou" in there. The French simply polluted the Latin and brought it to England when the Normans took over. Americans have simply gone back to the pure, and good Latin roots. Plus we all know nothing good can come from France. ; )

Too bad her last name isn't "Grammar".

Then she could teach young Americans the difference between:

There
Their
They're

Were
We're

"She understands what he [Bush] thinks. They're very, very close."

That makes her 1 of about 10 people with that incredible talent. No wonder she was chosen.

Actually, surprisingly, no. Dubya and Teddy Kennedy actually worked together to craft "No Child Left Behind" and Spellings was a key part of that legislation. So, Teddy knows her well, and so it's not surprising that he would endorse her, and likely vote in favor of her nomination.
