to the admin:

Regarding posts in the Civ Av forum, someone suggested looking up the photos of Iraqi Airways to see the livery.

However, "Iraqi Airways" does not appear on the pull-down menu of airlines.

I was able to find photos of Iraqi Airways aircraft by doing a keyword search, so they do exist in the database.

Could you add "Iraqi Airways" to the menu and group these photos together?

Thanks,
Elizabeth

Yup I totally agree, Iraqi Airways was once an excellent airline flying to places like Rio De Janeiro to places like Johanesburg, with planes like the B747 to B727, it would be interresting to see Iraqi Airways!

Marco

Airliners.Net has a couple of interesting, extensive search functions. Go here and scroll down to what you're looking for.
You'll see there aren't an awful lot of photos of Iraqi Airways in the database, which is probably why the airline isn't in the pull-down menu, in the first place.

Best regards,

TriStar.

Tristar, I know about the search functions. I specifically said in my note that there were photos that I knew of by keyword search.

Johan isn't able to respond to queries much at the moment, so I'll answer this one for him ...

There are only 10 photos for Iraqi Airways on the database (I've standardised the airline names for the two that were slightly different so that they are all in one group now), but this simply isn't enough to warrant a separate entry on the Airlines drop-down list. These photos represent only about 0.0001% of the photos on Airliners.net - if we had to assign entries on the drop-down lists to all such "small groups" we would soon end up with very unwieldy lists.

We are, however, very open to hearing suggestions from our users on what they would like to see on these lists. We just added jetBlue Airways the other day, on the recommendation of one of our users.

regards
Andrew (Southflite)

Interesting. While I would like to think I gave pretty much the same motivation as Andrew did (only - granted - from a non-official point of view), apparently that wasn't as appreciated.
All I did was try and add a way of getting a hold of those photos you were apparently looking for, Redngold.

I guess trying to be helpful doesn't always pay off. Oh well.

Best regards anyway,

TriStar.

Southflite--
I just searched four random airlines (OK, airlines that I thought wouldn't have many pictures in the database) and I found these figures:

All of these airlines have separate entries in the drop-down list:

Ural..................13 pictures
Air Spray...........12 pictures
Denver ports of call....12 pictures
AeroCozumel......7 pictures

So, you say that .0001 percent is not enough for a separate entry, but .00007 percent is?

(Sensing a double standard)
