Inspired by another topic...
I was thinking and I can't remember the last time I went without a drink for longer than a week. Whether it's a glass of wine or a three-night bender!
And before anyone says anything, I follow the wise words of the ex, who said that "We aren't alcoholics, we're drunks. There's a difference."
So, what's the longest you've gone without a drink?

As of recently 3 days was my maximum limit but once I gave it up for just under a year for health reasons blah blah. I managed to keep to it too although when I started drinkin again, it was like being back at square one, 5 pints and I was gone. Yep, I started drinkin again on my 18th in March so I was pretty much a lightweight at that LHR meet thing.
Don't worry, I'm cured now, I can handle at least, ooh 6

OV735! Me too... But this was back when I was 15, so I wasn't a fully-qualified drunk yet.
How long did you have to spend in the hospital? I think I was there about 3 days.
Isn't the pain just unbearably awful? Have you had any more 'attacks' since then?
I was fine for many years after the first one, so we thought it was just a false alarm. And then it suddenly happened again. But it's never been so bad that I have to go to hospital, so I now just go everywhere with some morphine and syringes, just in case. Thankfully, I've never had to use it!

Five years, like Travis I was a young drunk, I didn't know what Cherry Brandy was when I was five and drank a full glass full of it, I paid for it 30 mins later. After that I would always have some of the old mans beer. I don't drink to much just once in a while, I am to busy and most of my time I am operating heavy equipment and I don't want to be hung over or dunk running that. The last time I had a drink though was probably two Weeks ago had some good ole Canadian beer.

I go years between drinks. I quite like beer, but there have been a couple of long periods where I just don't drink alcohol. My longest was probably about four years. Then one day I had a few pints. Then maybe nothing for another couple of months. Then a couple of pints twice in a week. Generally I abstain cos the one bad effect alcohol has is it makes me sleepy, so if it's a cheeky half after work then great, but if it's a big night out I'll stick to lemonade, that way I'm still rocking at sunrise. If I get serious with the sauce early in the evening, I'm flagging badly by midnight. And a pint at lunchtime? Uggh, how sluggish is the afternoon?! It's like being hit over the head with a mallet. The one exception, interestingly enough, was the a.net meetup at CGN when we all flew on the Iranair 747SP - it was such an early start (6am at Stansted) that by the time I go to the bar at Cologne airport with Tugmaster, Brons2 and co, I NEEDED A DRINK. So I had about five, and another five after we landed. Whoo hoo!!

I win. I've lived 56 years without a drink. Doesn't bother me in the least. What does bother me is the number of innocents killed by drunk drivers every year. And the number of households ripped asunder by alcoholism. And the lives ruined by booze. Seems like I have made a wise choice.

Sept. 26 was the last time I had a drink... I also spent half the night dancing with the porcelain because we forgot to order the damn pizza so the alcohol wasn't absorbed by anything... 3 glasses of Vodka mixed with Sierra Mist and nothing to eat... I was slammed. Now, if I had eaten the pizza, I could have gone for a 4th glass and still be fine. RHAA!!!, Next time I will order pizza
Needless to say, we ordered pizza the next night.. LOL!!!

the pain was awful. I was kept at the hospital for more than a week. I guess it had developed pretty far. The doc told me not to drink at least for a year or so, plus basically only eat chicken, fish and flowers (ie salads and stuff). It was a tough thing to do for me, but I managed to stick to it, well, for at least 9 months.
Since then I haven't had any further problems with it, but I still try to keep drinking and eating heavy stuff to the minimum.
