After the spectacular win on the first game of Champions League against Fenerbahçe SK,Manchester United today suffered a smashing 3-0 loss in Ýstanbul.Fenerbahce missed more chances then they scored, but we are still satisfied with the win.Fenerbahce was the first team to beat Man Utd and destroying unbeaten run at home on UEFA games after 40 years.

I am especially very happy after this victory against Man United, since I had to deal with M.United Fan dispatchers after the first game, now I am looking forward to fly back there  Smile  Big thumbs up

However..

Manchester United are through to the next round.. and FB are not..  Smile

Turkish teams should go play in some other league where they belong along with teams from Israel..

Chris

Sorry but what do you mean here ?

Good match from FB nonetheless, wel done, couple of nice goals, but let's relativate a little, it was MU's reserve team and they were anyway qualified.

I don't know what anyone else thinks on the matter, but I find it quite insulting that United couldn't put out their usual line up just because they were already qualified. The 35,000 people who turned up at Old Trafford tonight have paid to see the team, tickets aren't cheap, and they should be entitled to see all of the best players available on the pitch, not just the ones who are the least important if they hurt themselves.

I'm really hoping that they get beaten by Exeter City in January, now that would be good Big thumbs up

as both a Manchester United fan and a Galatasaray fan i am feeling happy about this victory.

i still remember the days when i was not a cim bom fan and galatasaray defeated manchester united in what was it....1993 i believe...that was sad.

but then the next year united slaughtered GS 4-0 i think at Old Trafford with an own goal from bulent.

United still didn't qualify however.

oh the good old days when i was still able to follow european soccer.

As a Fenerbahce fan for 36 years, I have to give the credit to Galatasaray for being the first team to win the UEFA cup from Turkey. They worked really hard, they created a college like playing environment and all the players were used to playing together for so many years. I think Fenerbahce is going in the same direction with so many young players getting great results.

Of course, there is alway the Nov 6th where FB won 6-0 against GS.  Smile That was awesome..  Smile We hope to see a remake of that this coming Sunday.

From thousands of miles away, I wish that I was in Kiziltoprak today  Smile

PlymSpotter, it was not played at Old Trafford. and even if it was, there would be a sold out croud. Old Trafford is always filled to capacity when nited play. 67 000 watched United reserves vs Arsenal reserves last week.

Anyway, no need for Sir Alex to risk any of his first team players with such a tight schedule. Unite are through, and the reserves got some CL training. Good stuff.  Smile

Iakobos;

Fenerbahçe beat Man Utd 0-1 at Old Trafford in 1998(not exactly sure on the date) destroying the United's 40 year long record of not being beaten in home games in European matches.

Turkish teams should go play in some other league where they belong along with teams from Israel..

Actually he is right,Manchester United has suffered too much on the hands of Fenerbahce, that may be only the chance to prevent further humiliatings on their behalf.

Bahadýr,

I strongly recomend you to watch the game.FB played a very good game and scored spectacular goals. You can understand how well FB played with the comments of their fans like Christa, they are certainly drowned in the Bosphorus...And the next victim will be our long lasting rival Galatasaray this weekend.I can recomend you to watch this one too if you have a chance,Spectacular 6-0 victory was on the 6 th day of the month and you never know how much Fenerbahce will score on this game which will be played on 12th day of the month this weekend.A new record perhaps  Big thumbs up

There are many Galatasaray supporters among the Europeans since they earned a very big success on winning the UEFA cup,but the young Fenerbahce team is thirsty and eager for such a success,I have to praise the young player Tuncay Sanlý scoring a hat trick on this game.He will be a future superstar I believe.

In Turkey Galatasarays crown is over. You will hear the name of Fenerbahce SK more and more in the next years.

It wasn't even United's reserve team - it was half of their Youth Team! Well done to Fenerbahce and all that, but come-on - they weren't playing the proper Man Utd team!

Friends,

If a player is selected for Manchester United, means he is good enough to wear the squad shirt doesnt matter if he is in the reserves or what. Some of the players are also stars of their national teams.Did you know that Tuncay Sanlý who scored 3 goals last night was a second division player not too long ago?

10 years later nobody will remember that the team was containing reserve players, they only will remember the result of the game.3-0.Because the history only writes the results.

Man. Utd scored 6 goals to FB in the first game but we didnt create lame excuses for the defeat instead we stand up again and kicked back with 3 goals in the rematch..We waited only few weeks to win against MU and relieved with the sweet taste of victory,God knows how long(maybe years) they have to wait until win against FB again.

God, I loved this feeling, Big grin I can't wait for my first flight to England to experience it first hand.Maybe I should make a request for the crew scheduling department.  Big thumbs up

No, the point is that Man Uniteds 1st team hammered 6 goals in the first game. The fact that the reserves conceded 3 in the 2nd game kind of indicates that the Man united 1st team is somewhat better than the reserves. Or do you think that the Man United 1st team would have lost 3-0 to Fenerbahce?!!? A pretty dramatic turnaround in form if that is the case  Big grin

Actually the real point is;
When I looked at the pitch there were 11 British Man wearing Manchester United uniforms leaded by Sir Alex Ferguson.(don't tell it was his lookalike as a subtitute Big grin ) and the result at the end of the game was Fenerbahce wins,Tuncay Sanlý scores Hat Trick.

Wing, it isn't about whether Fenerbahce deserved it or not, nor is about whether the players "deserved" to wear the Man United shirt. Fenerbahce won. Good. Well done. It's just that neither Man Utd nor their fans will give a monkey's about it. They just don't care.

I mean, I'm a Manchester City fan for heaven's sake. I've got no brief for United. But, really, they aren't bothered in the slightest about losing last night.

I have a good feeling about GS... Aurelio is out, free-kick boy is out...all that is left is Alex, and Volkan will shut him down, if not volkan then Song from the right and left side. And Hasan Sas and Saban will score....Necati will get some stuff done too. Nobre will be dangerous and might score but i think Tomas is key to play against his old team  Smile

Oh btw, i went to see sivil havacilik genel muduru, i can take all my tests at once...and i got the job with turkish! I can sign the deal as soon as i convert my licenses  Smile A320 here i come  Smile

Cimbom!

Fener has beaten the A team of Man Utd before, don't see why they can't beat them 3:0 if they had all the stars....at home.

Actually, the team that beat Fenerbache 6-2 at old trafford was not Uniteds first 11. The line up was:

Carroll

G. Neville
Ferdinand
Silvestre
Heinze

Bellion
Djemba Djemba
Kleberson
Giggs

Nistelrooy
Rooney

Note the midfield. Ronaldo, Scholes, and Keane certainly would have played for a first team, but were not selected for various reasons.

The team which played against Fenerbache yesterday was:

Howard

P. Neville
Brown
O'Shea
Fortune

Ronaldo
Djemba Djemba
Miller
Fletcher
Richardson

Bellion

Only Ronaldo is from the first team (if you don't include subs.) and there is a much more defensive formation. United didn't come there to score lots of goals, they came to get match training for the players that needed it.

Banco;

I know it wasn't most important game but hey we in Turkey suffered the worst defeats from England, finally I cought an opportunity to have fun I don't want to spoil it.
I have been waiting for such occurance since Turkey lost 0-2 against England(the game Beckham missed the penalty) since I was very sure we could defeat England this time and joking with the dispatchers of the handling company. It was a big disappointment that time but this time finally its my turn.Other than that I know its only a game and bashing the loosing side is the most enjoyable part.

PS:Fenerbahce defeated Man.City too at 1962  Big grin
