That's my dilemma. The new band I'm playing keys for, I'm the only one with extensive singing experience in the past. The problem, I'm in Barry's range and top off vocally at F# above middle C, and that's even a strain. Even when I do sing somewhat high, my voice is huskier than anyone else's I hear on the radio. My question, outside of the death metal growlers, any lead singers of rock bands out there who were range limited and chose to sing lower than higher? The closest I know is Billy Idol, and even he's a far stretch on me range wise. Thoughts are appreciated, thanks!
