I think his films are very original and challenging, and I've enjoyed those I've seen very much. I particularly liked All About My Mother and Talk to Her. I can't wait to see Bad Education. Almodovar tackles difficult subjects in a thought provoking manner, and I think he's a great filmmaker.
I'm not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information.

Is it bad? not necessarily, because if you like to see his proposal it could be a very interesting director, as Jodorowsky (although I don't even think of comparing them).
Almodovar has to be understood in his own dimension of grotesque cinema. I like him a lot, but in the strict point of view, I think he is not a very good director....

Definitely not. I don´t like that kind of movies.
The main reason to see it, is that I belong to a "Cine Forum" of my Alma Mater. So I don´t have a choice.
But I think, for what you tell me, that I will be more than critic!
Almodovar is not atheist, but agnostic. He says that he don´t hate religion, but.... Will see.
