Canada kicked ass! 6-1 victory over the Russians to win Gold at the World Hockey Junior Championships! This is the first time Canada has done so since 1997.

Canada currently hold the title for:

-World Junior Hockey Championship

-World Cup of Hockey

-World Hockey Championship (Mens)
-World Hockey Championship (Womens)

-Olympic Hockey Championship (Mens)
-Olympic Hockey Championship (Womens)

Not bad, eh?

Chris

it's nice to see that hockey still exists in some shape, form, or fashion. We all know the NHL has pretty much used up all its goodwill, so I'm glad there's still some quality hockey being played somewhere.

Although I like the fact that we won, it was the most boring game in the most boring tournement ever!

WTG CANADA !!!

Lets look forward to next year.....

Only 2 Canadian players are eligible to return to the team, while 12 Russian players will be able to play next year.

Canada will have to hold on to the cup very tight next year as the Russians will be strong and out for revenge.

Andreas  Big thumbs up

Canada might have won, but I lost a steak dinner to Aaron (N737MC). Nonetheless, way to go, Canada!

'....but Sweden should have won'

They played earlier in the tournament, Canada 8 - Sweden 1.
Maybe you forgot about it, can't say I blame you.

Actually, because of the NHL strike they now show Swedish Elite league games here. Right now they're showing a game between Modo and Lulea. The advertisements in the face-off circles look weird.
