That new FOX show "Point Pleasant" is coming on now, and I was just wondering if anyone else is watching it. The only reason I am is that I go down to Point Pleasant a lot during the summer, and I want to see if the town on the show is anything like the real one. Do any other NJ a.netters, or anyone else, have anything else to say about this show?

I live in Point Pleasant Beach (town the shows based on) so I've been waiting to watch the show from when I heard about it. From what I can see so far doesn't look like the real Point Pleasant at all. Was hoping there would be at least a couple scenes in the real town. And the town that's on the water is called Point Pleasant Beach the town to the west that's not on the ocean at all is Point Pleasant. Disappointing so far, I'll post again after the show.

So far, from what I've seen, it's just a lame OC rip-off, that happens to be based in Point Pleasant. I wasn't expecting much, so I'm not too disappointed. What a weird show.

Don't think I'll be watching that again, very weird. I think they only took the name Point Pleasant nothing like my town.

Maybe I'm the only one that liked it, of course I would not have heard about it if I did not know my fav actress was the star: Elisabeth Harnois.  Love

I agree the show seems pretty trippy, to be honest I have never seen any other plot like it (which gives me the impression of uniqueness), but I'm not one to judge an entire series by the preimere. I plan to watch all the episodes.

Considering that I do not get to watch TV that much anymore, what is OC and why does it matter? The producer of Buffy made this scifi-drama, that says something, eh?

Are you serious?  Wow!

No offense, but this show is absolutely horrible. I don't know if I am biased because I am from NJ, but it is some of the worst TV I have seen in a long while. It's just a lame excuse to show supposedly New Jersey teenagers having sex and being possessed by the devil.

Well you might have seen more TV shows than I have; you have probably seen many of your kinds of shows, I have not. When I was younger it was X-files ,Simpsons, Seinfeld, Fresh Prince, etc. I rarely watch TV anymore; maybe the news, maybe the weather, maybe a DVD. How would I know the difference between a good and bad TV show if I haven't seen many? I don't even have any particular interest in any reality show.

I honestly could not care; for Point Pleasant I pay attention to plot more than what the show is being sold with cuz I want to know what it is about, I normally do no have time to watch period.

I am suprised in a way how you feel about the kinds of 'crap' that is being aimed at your age group, seeing that you are over a dacade my junior -- I never thought of that, of course I never watched it.

Hey Lehpron, I was just joking with you. I really don't watch a lot of that crap myself, and the only reason I know about the OC is that I have a younger sister who is obsessed with it. I would take the History Channel and Discovery Channel over MTV any day of the week, and Seinfeld is still my favorite show.

BTW I still think Point Pleasant is a bad show, though.  Big grin

Let me re-phrase: the only reason I have watched the OC is because my sister is obsessed with it. So yes, I have watched it.  Big grin
