This has one of the best film trailers of any movie I have seen in a long long time.

I have absolutely no idea what HH is about other than it has a huge fan base and Tim from "The Office" is the main star of the film.

Looks pretty good - be sure to crank the sound right up!

Hehe, correct.

Book was great, so I'm worried the movie may not live up to the expectations.

42 hehe.

However the answer isn't what's really important. The question is. :P And I have to agree with Thom@s here, that it's a bit scary that the movie might actually be not as good as the book was. Especially since DNA himself isn't around anymore directing the whole thing.

Though I found the trailer to be very cool and promising, too.

If I remember correctly, the original book was written after the BBC series. The other three books came later.

What does the film cover. All 4 books?

Douglas Adams was very involved with the movie up until his death. His website continues to link with the movie. If the movie was a tragic departure from the book I'm sure that the website would balk at promoting the film.

Afterall, Hitchhikers has as loal and rabid a following as Lord of the Rings does. I'm confident that the flimakers are aware that they have high expectations from that fan base.

I can not wait to see this movie.

UALPHLCS,

you're probably right, the DNA fans who run douglasadams.com seem to be more or less aware of the status of the movie and what's it gonna look like, and so far it looks like they like it.

The cast also looks promising, with John Malkovich, Bill Nighy, Martin Freeman and Zooey Deschanel. And of course the fellow who's going to play Marvin the Paranoid Android.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
