Hi everyone,

here's proof that staying up late is all worth it. I'm just taking a break from computer-based training, looking out the roof window and what do I see? SNOW! Yeessss! The second time this "winter" I get to see it, and the first time it was crap and only lasted one day.

So especially you 'merkins, if you want to dump some of the snow you're getting on good "Old Europe", feel free! We'll take up to a foot a day!

Ah shoot, seems like it stopped while I was typing. A**clowns.

Hey, you can have all the snow you want from here in the northeast. You just have to come get it, there will be plenty by tomorrow morning.  Big grin

We've got about eight inches here and are expecting sixteen to twenty more. It's a near blizzard out there.

I'm loving it tonight, but it won't be much fun tomorrow when I have to shovel it.

Cheers from the South Shore of Boston.

In the town where I live, near Barcelona, temperatures are forecasted to sink to -7C, the coldest temperatures in 20 years, and snow, even in the city, is also on the cards. If it snowed it would be a real chaos. Every time it snows in Barcelona, even if it is a single flake and there is no accumulation, everything stops working and there are lots of car accidents. We are not used to it.

Thanks for the view of back home, Phyllis. Here in Prague, we've finally gotten some bona fide snow and after some soggy overcast days, it's currently beautiful out there. Sunlight over freshly fallen snow, clean air. More like the kind of winter day I miss after moving away from YYZ.

Here's some pictures from my neighborhood in NJ. We didn't get hit as hard as initially predicted, but we still ended up with about 12". Just finished shoveling out my driveway, and thankfully it wasn't that bad because of the light nature of the snow.

Aloges: I hope it snows so hard that the power lines to your house snap and causes your computer to crash. From someone that just spent seven hours shoveling this stuff.

Vaporlock: Great shot of the snowflakes. Would make a nice Christmas card.

Blackbird1331, sorry, but no chance of that happening. All the lines are in the ground. Big grin And I don't think those big cross-country power lines can accumulate enough snow to collapse under its weight.

Anyway, at home I'd be the one shovelling and taking care of the ice in the driveway. If only there was a bit of it to take care of.

Well, snow is ice, but...

You get the point, right? It would actually be interesting to know exactly how my town is supplied - I really don't know. I guess there's some redundancy; some people from the business mentioned that Germany had a pretty reliable system when that blackout in the US and Canada happened. They were trying hard to cover the smirk on their faces, too.  Laugh out loud

Consider yourself lucky Aloges, we got hit pretty hard here in CLE, twice, once before Christmas, where we got more than a foot, and yesterday we got several inches.
