Anybody seen Margaret Cho's new stand up tour? I used to really like her but I saw her last tour and was underwhelmed. I think I might be over her. Any good reviews from her current tour? ...assuming it's started?

I saw her first tour and thought she was a riot.

Then I saw her second show 2 years ago and thought she was just loud and obnoxious.

When she started out she was fresh and funny, but she really did plummet quickly into a morass of crap.

Aa61hvy: Do you mean Kathy Griffin, the one from Seinfeld where she rags on him as her stand up act? If she were in a cross walk, I'd accelerate  Wink/being sarcastic. God, she's horrible.

I love Margaret Cho. I definitely plan on getting tickets when she's in town. I saw her last year during a trial run for her tour that she did in the election swing states as well as in Provincetown, MA in August 2004. I didn't find it as funny as her previous performances. And I think she was on something because at times she would just start to talk sooo fast. Either way, I definitely plan on seeing this. God knows she's got plenty of material to work with.

I've noticed as well that she has trended towards just foul-mouth bathroom humor...which can be funny but is just not inventive or different at all. I think it takes a lot more effort to create an act that does not use foul language or bathroom/sex humor than to resort to those easy targets.

I agree with you on that, Maverick.

In her last show, she used the F-word in virtually every line, and after awhile she just became plain old annoying.

Although fabulous, she *is* getting a tad too political and a bit vulgar for my taste.

It's like Mommy...awww!

I generally like Cho's standup, but I think she overplays her gay/lesbian connections. It's as if she's decided she prefers being an icon to being extremely funny.
