Jude Law - Completely Lame?

The Aviator
Closer
Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Sky Captain and the world of tommorow
Alfie.

What do these films all have in common? They are all in cinemas now in some parts of the world and they all feature lame Jude Law. He is a complete flake - devoid of any talent or screen presence. He pronounces his "t" sounds as "s" sounds - grrrrrrr.

Why the hell is he in so many movies - why would anyone like this trashy, self-important, did I mention *lame* idiot who prances around in his ridiculous scarves advertising himself.

Why is this walking personality-bypass so freaking popular??

Is the world insane???!!!

RRRHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I've actually just come in from the Cinema from seeing Closer, I wasn't that impressed by it, it jumped to months ahead, and you didn't know where you were. I've never really took much notice of Jude Law, and he still does nothing for me. Now George Clooney on the other hand...

I don't think I'm the only one.

I thought he was pretty good in Enemy at the Gate..

Wasn't he killed in that movie? If so - it was brilliant.

"Wasn't he killed in that movie?" unfortunately he was the victor in a lengthy sniper battle between a top german sniper and himself. Based on a true story.

Edit: Forgot to add that, playing a russian he should have atleast tried to speak with a russian accent. The Brits ruined the movie with their accents.

I LOVE Jude Law.

He's a great actor, and those are great movies.

Very personable in real life, too.

What's with all the Aussies hating Jude Law? Did he say some disparaging remark about your country? Or is it simply the usual anti-England sentiment?

QFF, first you go on a tirade about Jude Law then a bunch of your compatriots join you. So it's a legit. question, you needn't be such a suck about it.

Malb777,

Totally agree about Shane Warne. Did you see him about the tsunami appeal on TV recently? He was talking to the newsreader and he was like "Aw mate, I was so shocked...blah blah", but he was actually smiling in the background. That whole speech was bullshit. And also the damn commentators, especially Richie Benaud, he thinks Shane Warne is God or something. Total jerks.

Getting back to the topic though, anyone seen GATTACA? I thought Jude Law acted pretty well in that.

I also thought he acted well in Gattica, as he did in 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' and 'Artificial Intelligence:AI', very diverse roles all portrayed well. Actually, considering QFF said 'He is a complete flake - devoid of any talent or screen presence.' I doubt it if he ever saw those films.

Yukimizake -

You earlier said: Or is it simply the usual anti-England sentiment?

Thus, I feel no compulsion to respond to your question. The opinions expressed by me and by my fellow countrymen and women are incidentally similar. There is no need to play dumb, I know provocation when I read it.

considering QFF said 'He is a complete flake - devoid of any talent or screen presence.' I doubt it if he ever saw those films.

I saw both films and was not impressed with his performance.

Instead you feel the compulsion to be a wuss, you're more sensitive than a 12 year old at the junior high prom.

You can honestly say that his performance as Gigolo Joe in Artificial Intelligence did not have any screen presence?, Seriously?, You wouldn't know what screen presence was if it came up behind you and bit you in the ass.
