I think he might just have laid the foundation for the annulment of the British Royal family. Also, won't his divorce (a big no-no in the Catholic world as I understand it), make it very impractical to function as the head of the Church of England? I'd say that unless the Queen decides to skip the rank & give her throne directly to Prince William (I doubt Harry will ever get near it, after his little nazi stunt), she's going to have boatloads of problems.

This is just my outside observation, but it seems that the royalty is good for little else these days than to feed the tabloids stuff to write about.
It's somewhat ironic that the US doesn't have royalty, because that's exactly the kind of thing that would get a vast portion of this country interested. It would be a reality TV show producer's heaven.

QFF,
You do know that there's no guarantee that the Republicans will have it their way if this marriage goes on, so there's still a big chance that you'll end up having HRH Queen Camilla for the next few decades.
Enjoy your new Queen!

KEno - can absolutely guarantee you that we will never end up having HRH Queen Camilla.
We will have Her Majesty Queen Camilla - as the King's Consort; a union so unpopular that it will swell the support for a republic in many of the realms around the world.
It is another nail in the coffin of the monarchy, and for this I will always be greatful to HRH The Prince of Wales.

Also he's going to propose today? The public knows about it before Camilla? Unless Charles is going for some kind of fancy, or not so fancy, way of doing it.

Err, that's why we're not a Catholic country. Henry VIII saw to that.

CPH-R, the only way Harry can become King is for William to die and not have any male children.
I'm also wondering how this will affect Charles being King as both are divorcees, which has been pointed out is not generally allowed for the head of the CofE. However, I don't think it has anything to do with the Catholic church AFAIK.
6 April has been mentioned as a possible wedding date.

Well, Lapper - considering the Church of England was founded on the principal that the Monarch can divorce I don't think there will be too much opposition from his mother or the church itself.

I thought that even the female offspring of William would be higher up the line of succession than Prince Harry?
