Hi there,
will be in SIN from June 03rd afternoon till June 04th evening.
Anybody knows a hotel in/close to airport (not too expensive)?

Changi is so quick to the city, why would you only be looking for a cheap hotel near the airport? The whole place is an airport suberb.

Depends what you want. The transit hotel books in blocks of hours. You could easily get a taxi/MRT from the airport to a hotel on the East Coast, or centre of town, roughly 15 to 25 Sin $. There are a number of Asian Hotel web sites which can help you out on cost side. Pretty much all Hotels in Sing are good. I stay on the East Coast, as you can walk down the sea front, after a long flight it is hot and pleasant (plus I lived that side).

My point is that I arrive in the afternoon and leave in late evening the next day. So if I choose a "normal" hotel, check out time is too early for me :-(
But thanks for the infos, dudes. And thanks for the link - never seen a hotel that makes reservations in blocks of hours .

NumberTwelve, you can always inquire about a late checkout, or even pay for a second night. Mid range hotels in Singapore are not that expensive and you can't really go wrong. Try the Costa Sands or the Paramount Hotel.

I'd definitely agree with these comments - it's so easy to get into the centre of town from the airport, and there's far more to see there - even just for one night. If you haven't done it before, try going to the Night Safari...!

Most hotels should be able to arrange late checkout, until approx. 3pm or so.

I've stayed in a few Hotels in Singapore, and have found the Swisshotel The Stamford very good. It's central and has great views of the Harbour. It's nice and modern too. I'd give it 10/10.

The point is: if I take a hotel out of the airport, I have to go through customs and immigration and still have the "problem" with check out time. Ok, maybe I can have late check out but till 6 or 7 pm??

Also: does anybody know what will happen with luggage? Is there still check through possible if I have a stop of 26 hrs?
