Where do you all ski?

Local: http://www.boynehighlands.com/ We head up north as often as we can.

Yearly: http://www.dolomitisuperski.com/default.asp?L=3 And hit the dolomites once a year.

BTW, triva Q. Where is the largest skier market in the US, in terms of purchases of skis, etc?

I personally like Crans-Montana and Saas-Fee (Switzerland), where I go to only when I have a long weekend. Otherwise for day skiing I head to Chamonix or La Clusaz in Northern Elbonia.

Favorite resort is Vail in Colorado. Ski'd there many many times over my short life. Worked for the resort for 4 years as well. Out of all the resorts in Colorado its the best one I've ski'd.

Two rules in aviation, don't hit anything and don't run out of gas, cause if you run out of gas yer gonna hit something.

When I was younger, my parents and I used to make at least one ski holiday every year (mostly two).

I really liked Obersdorf/Germany (have been there most) but also Saas Fee/Switzerland and Ischgl/Austria, a personal highlight was Aspen/USA but it was unfortunately too crowded (the snow was good though).

I would love to ski in the Lake Tahoe area but until now I have only been there in the summer.

Lake Louise and Sunshine are my favorites.

I have skied at Vail (Very Nice) and several resorts in Austria and Italy.

The European resorts had a crappy winter while I was there, therefore the low marks.

Vail was wonderful, but, I feel the scenery was "better" in Alberta.

Local: Mont-Tremblant and Mont St-Sauveur. They're both about an hour away so I'll go 2 or 3 times a month.

Annual-ish: French Alps, Les Gets or Val Thorens.

Well, since I live in Sacramento, I've been to just about every resort in the whole Tahoe region, and I would say my top 3 would be:

If you are a beginner skier, definitely check out http://www.borealski.com It is by far the best place to learn how to ski or snowboard.

how do I book reservation at a ski resort? how much is the package (average)?

$10,000 for one weekend (three days, two nights) - forget it.

$150 for one night - yes!

I really enjoy going to Mont-Tremblant because of their village (and ski trails). I park my car under the hotels for a week, get drunk every night and walk home from the bottom of the village to the top of it... and in the morning put on my snow stuff and walk right over to the chair lift!

Other good places are Lech/Zürs and St. Anton am Arlberg. Those are the best ones before the Arlberg tunnel.

I really like Big Mountain, MT and Telluride, CO. I have never skied outside the U.S. though, so I don't have a huge amount to compare.
