Out of curiosity, How much is everyone willing to pay for the hotel? Considering it is New York and it is summertime, so rates will be pretty high. Just wanted to get an idea, how much I should be looking at.

cheers

I shopped hotels in New York for August 4th -7th and the lowest rate I can come up with for a branded hotel (like a Radisson, Sheraton, Hilton etc) in Manhattan (which is where I assume everyone would want to stay) is nothing less than $179 per night for those days. If anyone knows anything cheaper, let me know.

cheers

I recall that you could get Metro cards that would allow you to use the Subway and Bus System whenever you wanted while you were there, I think they were like 17 bucks. The cool thing is that they were good for a year, we should look into that.

BTW Logan, he's a vibes player and will be coming along. Can you get your axe on the train?

Airport hotel will no doubt be cheap but one of the worst areas to stay in if you are going to stay in "New York". We all know we will be getting plastered somewhere in Manhattan, and once you are IN Manhattan, there are so many options. Airport hotels will be very inconvenient.

I'd really prefer to fly, but if the prices stay where they are, screw it. I'll take the discount bus from Chinatown, BOS - Chinatown, NYC; $20 round trip. I'll book a seat for my axe if I can. Only thing, it needs to be secure in my hotel room also.
