Night Owl and proud, working 0700-1500 and miserable. For my working life of some 25+ years I have worked shifs like 1100-2100, 1500-2300 etc and loved it. for the past 10 months or so I have been working 0700-1500 and i find it quite hard to get used to.

I am an Afternoon Guru, that's it, I have my energy at around 1PM so that is my favorite time of the day. I am getting old now, and I find that even the thought of going out late makes me tired. I still on the odd time go out late but I stay out late but then my next day is a write off.

Thirteen replies and not one person claims to be a morning person. I wonder if the time that this was posted had anything to do with that?
My body seems to perform the same in the morning as it does at night. I've been waking up at 6:30AM and going to sleep at 11:30PM. With that time frame, my times of lowest energy and enthusiasm are about 10:00AM for a half hour or less, and a longer lull from 3:30PM to 5:00PM. After that I'm all wound up again, and I've actually been dumping some extra energy by jogging in the past few nights. Tonight I ran three miles from 8:35PM to 9:05PM, last night I started the three miles at 9:45PM.

I'm a little of each. I don't consider myself a night owl, because I'm usually asleep by midnight or 1 AM (maybe later if someone interesting is on Conan...). I'm also NOT a morning person; if I don't have to wake up, I'll sleep til 11AM or noon.

Sometimes I don't get to sleep until as late as 3am, then have to wake up for classes at 8, catching naps throughout the day. I'm trying to discipline myself to midnight (actually I decided that that starts tonight).

I like mornings. If the weather is nice then my fav time of day is ussually morning. But also, during summer break I'll be up and about till some unholy hour of the morning and then asleep till noon quite often.

Mornings are for sissies who are afraid of the dark.
Kidding... but only a little. I'm a confirmed night owl who breaks into cold sweats thinking about how my next job might require me to teach classes at some ghastly hour like 7am. I don't have any idea how people function at those times of day.
