Latest James Bond Rumours...

Mi6.co.uk and universalexports.net are both reporting rumours that Clive Owen will be ‘unveiled’ officially as the new James Bond next week.

Ewan MacGregor has also rumoured (in various sources) recently.

The Times, however, are heavily implying that Orlando Bloom will get the role.

I presume that this is to some extent agents floating balloons for their clients?

Personally, I think they should back down and get Brosnan to do one more but failing that, Clive Owen is the best option.

Orlando Bloom? WTF? They would turn it into a crappy Spiderman man style teen movie.

good news - he has zero % approval on this site, then, so far. Hopefully their focus groups are telling them the same.

Who would you all like as the new Bond?

Actually I agree that Clive Owen isn't a bad option - especially now that he is getting better known on both sides of the Atlantic.

A few years back they were touting Christian Bale to do it.

Now, he'd be a nasty Bond, wouldn't he?  Wink

Haven't they also mentioned Colin Salmon many times in the past - he's already appearing with a small part in the Bond films - a coloured JB would get some attention that's for sure.

I actually think Salmon would be pretty good. At one point, betting was suspended on him because of some big bets on him, but that was just rumours at the time.

They have, yes. I actually think he'd be brilliant as Bond - his voice and on-screen charisma. It'd be fantastic if they looked beyond race and just decided he was the best man for the job. He'd definitely get my vote for it.

How about a Welsh entry for James Bond.. how about Ioan Gruffudd. He is a very talented and versatile actor who is respected hugely in the acting community. I personally believe taht he has the manner and physical features to be a Bond.

What is everyone elses opinion on Ioan Gruffudd becoming the next James Bond?

Chris

I thought it was 50?

Still, Wales winning the Six Nations.. and beating England. All of this in the same year. Maybe we shouldn't have a Welsh Bond afterall as that would be another story on Wales for the EBC sorry I mean BBC to report on. Its not as if a Welsh person reads the BBC News..
