Your Latest Zit?

As a teenager (thank God those days have passed!  Wink) I was unfortunately plagued by zits. No matter what I tried, creams, lotions, changes in diet, they were there, and there to stay.

Luckily, the unthinkable happened, they eventually decreased in not only number, but magnitude.

However, I still get the occasional scorching zit even at the age of bloody 27.

So, the big question is, do you still get spots? Do you think you get too many relative to your age? Have you been one of those lucky people that never had them?

I used to think, of all the places on your body to get them, why the face? The part of you that everyone sees. It's unfair eh!?

Your thoughts and contributions would be appreciated!

Interesting topic Kieron747.

It is kind of ironic how when you're a teenager, your image is so important, yet pimples seem the plaugue you at every corner.

I had em. I had more than most. I eventually found the topical antibiotic Cleocin T that cleared everything up.

I still get them sometimes at 28, maybe one every couple weeks or so.

I had moderate acne until about 10th grade. I took Retine Microgel, that worked well.

Side note-a little off topic- I have a wart on my tricep, no idea how I got it, I picked at it, needless to say now it looks like I was in a car wreck, the damn thing bled like I hit an artery. All over my shoes, shorts and shirt.

Lucky b*****d!

Thank God I no longer have the traditional pizza face, but when i get the spots now, they are deep, persistent buggers, not your usual squeeze and splat types... Strange eh...

I had them pretty bad when I was in middle school, and the creams/washes/diet changes did nothing for me, so I went to my doctor and got acutane, a twice daily pill, pretty damn strong, supposedly it leads to deppression and may have been a factor in that kid who flew a cessna into a building in tampa, but I never felt any of that. Within a year my pimples were completely gone, and since then I haven't had more than one or two small ones that are easily dealt with... this may sound wierd, but does anyone else have/had a girlfriend that enjoys popping pimples on your back? I would occasionally get some big ones on my shoulders during waterpolo season, and my gf would pop them when she saw them at the beach... rather satisfying to be honest  Wink

Strange that, my ex was the same, she used to (apparently) enjoy zapping zits on my back. Its not my favourite career of choice, but hey, it takes all sorts eh?

Sunlight always did the trick for me. Whenever spring/summer rolled around and I spent a good hour out-doors, my acne all but disappeared. In the winter when I would revert to being white and pasty, I'd usually have some varying degree of acne.

I went to a dermatoligist in December to take care of this, and he prescribed a series of topical treatments. They work great, I'm acne free all year now. My treatement consist of Plexion face-wash and Klaron lotion. RetineMicro for spot treatment. Easy to use, no swollowing pills... worked for me.

I got them mostly in my early high school years, but about once a month or so something pops up on my face...not a big deal, doesn't bother me at all...

I did not suffer from many outbreaks at all. In fact, I could say that I was practically outbreak free except for the minor spot here and there. I DO however, remember my first zit. It came quick and fast. My mom had dropped us at Sunday School and by "Big Church" time, I had the most awful zit on my nose. I was so embarrassed.

I guess it's just genetics. When I was in middle school and high school, I was always riding horses, almost every day, always in the dirt, etc. Never had any problems.

I agree. The quantity and quality of acne went way down with the volume of water that I drank. Not that I have a big problem with that, thankfully, but I do need to get back to the large bottles of water.

Why? Why do women like that? That's awfully strange. Is it to make their men look better, or do they have some fascination with getting explosions out of mens bodies  eyebrow  ?

Someone shed some light on this.

When I shave my face sometimes breaks out. It really sucks as my it already feels like a rabid cat was clawing at my face..and when I get a zit it's game over. I still get some...whatever. Just have to truck on.

Shaving and spots have a close relationship, especially wne you're grown up!
Often, spots are caused by in-growing hairs thet become infected.

I was just reminded a few minutes ago that I'm    so it's not surprising I hardly get zits anymore. But, I eat all kinds of rubbish all the time.

I plucked one hair out of the eyebrow the other day and the pore turned into a zit.

Well, it's just one of those things that is strangely satisfying, like how I sometimes pluck hairs out of my chin with my fingernails while reading, it's just some wierd habit... The truly bizzare thing is that it wasn't just one girlfriend that did this to me, it has been the past three ladies I've dated... all have had varying degrees of fascination with the poppin'... anyone else have wierd, satisfying things that you do? try to keep it clean...  Wink

That is God's way of teaching you a very basic lesson: men must NEVER 'pluck' any hair - unless you want to look like this . ..

Contrary to popular belief, the only food that has proven to have a link with acne is dairy products.

Usually, stress and clogged pores are the real culprits.

Ive found if I drink alot of water, wash my face maybe once an hour when home, and get enough sleep my face stays clean..
