Daniel Craig is to be the next person to wear James Bond's smoking for the next 3 episodes of the saga...
He was competing against Cliv Owen, Ewan Mc Gregor, Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom for the role
He starred in Tomb raider and now become the 7th James bond after

Sean Connery
George Lazenby
RogerMorre
Timothy Dalton
Pierce Brosnan

It seems that in between each great actor that were Connery, Morre and Brosnan are those who did less well and were quickly replaced....so be careful Danny !

I dont know him. The shortlist was rubbish, none on it were suitable with the possible exception of Clive Owen. Ben a fan of his since he starred in The Chancer many years ago.

Theyve got to be joking. That picture does not bring Bond to mind more like a Mr Bean figure!

Bond needs to be a dark-haired, good looking, charmer not a nerdy blond gut with glasses. Gosh have the casting directors gone mad!

He was good in the Power of One as the adult neo-nazi guy.

But he is waaaaaaay too ugly to play Bond. Not suave in the slightest.

Don´t know about his acting capabilities but if they aren´t absolutely outstanding, I´m afraid he´s gonna follow George Lazenby.
Come on, this guy is not a James Bond!  expressionless

I agree, the last one was really bad. But nevertheless I hope they don't stop and go back to the roots. I must not be a normal action or even kind of science fiction movie. It has to be a movie with "realistic" technical gadgets and with some humor and irony, like it was with Connery and Moore.

In my view there was only one real Bond- Sean Connery.

All the others are just bad copies of him.

The bond movies are getting OLD and honestly really shi$$y. However, I don't think that actor really personifies what "Bond" should be.....if you ask me, if they were smart they would of picked P Diddy to play Bond. He would of brought new life to the character. Besides, his very good looks, he also has the Blond kind of attitude, and well needless to say he's a lady's man! In my opinion, if that guy is the new Bond, bad bad bad choice.

Sean Connery play and excellent role as Bond, followed by Roger Moore. All others didn't quite cut it..

This new guy will make a scary Bond.

I always thought that Brosnan was the best balance of Moore's shtick and Connery's awesomeness... but the Die Another Day made me reconsider that stance. Oh well... I hope this franchise doesn't fall apart, the Bourne movies have really kicked some ass.

I agree. Not sure if it is that picture of him or what but he looks like kind of psycho-ish....lol. If I would of had to pick someone from that list of potentials, I would of gone for Cliv Owen anytime of the day over this guy.

For the last two years, there's been a story about a new James Bond actor being picked practically every week. So until there is any kind of official confirmation, I won't believe it at all.

By the way, I own all the James Bond movies, and I think all five guys did a good job playing Bond in slightly different ways. I don't have a problem with any of them, and I've never been able to pick a favourite. I wouldn't argue with someone picking any one of them and calling them the best! (Yes, even including Lazenby, who I think is massively underrated.)

Who cares about Bond?

It´s the villains who make a Bond movie watchable (or not)!  bigthumbsup
