Heck, as long as I'm starting threads, I'll tell you about my boss. I've never really had a bad boss, though, obviously, some are more memorable than others. I was really impressed by my boss the other day - she explained to me why I wouldn't be moving up right away, what we're doing with the department in the near future and how it looks for me in the picture. She was pretty honest and down to earth and scored some big points with that. I'm not sure, but I think I may not be in the department for long as I look to move to a different one. But if I'm on my way out the door, I'll remember how well she did.
Not many people (I would think) have a boss of whom they either can or do speak highly. How's it going with some of your current bosses?

my boss is a damn moron when it comes to the job. she hasnt a clue as to the role of the people under her and what is involved in the normal day-to-day.
more often than not she is approaching me to inquire about what she should do about problem x or y, and how she should deal with others in my group. i dont mind because i am leaving my job soon, and truthfully she is a very wonderful person and i can go talk with her about most anything. so it is a rare position where my boss is a moron, but i really enjoy having her around.

Dont have a boss either. Got LAAID off two years ago. Sold cars for a while, but they expected me to work 6 days a week! Usually a crappy day off like Wednesday off!. So I said screw that, quit. Now not doing anything.

I dont have a boss because I dont have a job but I would consider all my professors "bosses" in a way. All I can say is, I can't stand them! After hearing these horror stories about bosses, I am glad I don't have a job.

My boss is a great boss.
He's a strong leader with a vision for our department.
He's has given our department a sense of purpose.
He's made sure that our budget reflects our needs.
He's given the 'ok' to axe certain programs that are outdated or wasteful.
He's extremely well respected among my coworkers.
He's eaten Thanskgiving Dinner with some of us.
He's visited some of my coworkers in the hospital.
He's even shaken my hand.
Did I mention he resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave?
No, that would have been incredible to be there! Unfortunately, I was still in college at the time. Once I completed my degree I applied to the US Army's Warrant Officer Flight Program. I've already completed BCT, WOCS, initial introduction to rotary flight, and I've just begun my advanced training in my assigned aircraft. I still have over six months to go. Once I complete this (mind you - 62 weeks after I first arrived at BCT) I will be based where ever the Army needs me.... which I hope to be Iraq of Afghanistan.
