A.Netters - How About A Mass U.S Meet?

Hello fellow A.Netters.

I was wondering.....

Maybe we should organise a MEGA meet in the US.

If we all had enough advance notice, maybe a large group of us could all invade a U.S city for a weekend. Maybe September/October/November time??

Could use the occasion to hook up with our fellow American A.Netters....

Your thoughts?

NY would be cool. Somewhere around JFK maybe?

If it comes to that, I vote for LAX/SFO. Or, maybe you were just referring to your fellow Europeans? Maybe just piggy-back on the NYC thing if we can get some more information.

There are many things to do in south florida. The weather would be the best down here if you ask me.During those months, we usually get very good weather. Good weather=ability to do more. As I said, I can help plan and organize events. As for Vegas, we would get more variety of airlines and airplanes at MIA for example than at LAS.

Day 1 - Spot/Photgraph
Night 1 - Get Drunk   Then retire to Hotel room.
Day 2- As Previous Day - or maybe go downtown and 'explore'?
Night 2 - Self Explanatory
Day 3 - Look above
Night 3 - On Plane going home

I propose a Fri/Sat/Sun combo or maybe just a Sat/Sun one?

By the way, Ive asked for this thread to be moved to the 'non-av' forum.

I remember reading about the 747SP meet. Have there been many others?

Chartering a rare or otherwise special plane would be a spectacular achievement, but perhaps not very practical. Maybe we could visit someplace unique, like arranging a special trip to one of the desert storage sites. Or perhaps we could book a large block of rooms at whichever on-airport hotel is willing to let us have a party on the roof?

Those suggestions are just what happened to pop into my head, so take them at face value.

That sounds like a great idea, though I'd be leaning towards a West coast destination or MIA or FLL. Obviously, if there's already something cooked up for NYC, that's cool too, but who says we can't have two meets?

I don't know what Florida you live in, but we call those months HURRICANE SEASON! Yeah sure I don't know if you remember last year when four little gusts of wing came, which BLEW EVERYONES HOUSES AWAY!
If you want to get airborne, then yes excellent location.

So if a hurricane comes, we extend the meet. I was comparing Florida weather to the other places being suggested. Also, hurrican seasons are highly unpredictable. Yes we had a few this past season but it does not mean it will occur again.
