I just wanted to be the first to wish you all a Happy April 20th! Let this be a day of joy, peace, reflection and enjoyment.

(And for all those that would ruin our day, no.. 4/20 has nothing to do with Hitler's birthday or the anniversary of the Columbine tragedy.)

So let the munchies begin!

Steve

Erm...yes...Hump Day...why not? But why only on Wednesdays, humping seems to be 24/7 activity?

Hi all,

I've apparently missed all the hype about this date being a "smokers" holiday of sorts. There are two threads about April 20, and they both refer to reefer. What's up?? Can anyone explain the "holiday" to me?

Chip

Thats the most intelligent thing KAPA has ever said. You are promoted to Capo in the family.  Wink

And April 20th or 4/20 is a big burnout holiday because the police code for weed violations is "420". So 420 is a common term used to describe hippie lettuce consumers, burnouts, and other useless members of society.

Explains why there were so many dogs searching in my school today and why they checked my trunk. I don't smoke, and I have no problem with searches, as long as nobody plants evidence in my bag!

Yeah, interesting you mentioned it FLAIRPORT, we had dog searches today too. The Politics behind it are interesting, the cops cannot open the lockers, but the Principal can, because the lockers are seen as school property which he can open.....you do not have to use the lockers.

I think it is a dumb idea to have a random drug check today. The stoners won't be at school.

Regards

No, its because I do drugs  Silly!

I didn't see anyone skipping today, and I don't think it crossed a lot of peoples minds...didn't cross my mind! I know a few people got caught. The dogs did not search my class, but my trunk was searched. This is one of maybe 3 or 4 random checks this year and the main reason for the trunk searches is because people sneak underclassmen out to lunch (senior privliage) and I personally know people who sneak out 2 underclassmen in the same car...but like I said, as long as nobody plants evidence, I'm cool with it and I agree with the need for it.

I beg your humble forgiveness, Don Cialini, but I believe you are mistaken in this. http://www.snopes.com/language/stories/420.htm Still, doesn't alter what the day signifies - a boom in business for the snack food industry from all the burnouts getting "the munchies."

Well, I stand by it. Too many burnouts filled me in, but then again who would believe burnouts...I could be wrong of course.
