Happy San Jacinto Day from New York! You know, with all of the Texas bashing on this forum as of late, I felt that you guys down there deserve a bit of a break.

Ehh, the rest of the world is just jealous...
I haven't been on IAH Spotter's Club lately, but did you move to New York? Or just visiting?

Thank you sir. I haven't been back to Texas since January, nor am I going back until late June, but thanks!

Quoting IAH777 (Reply 2): Yes, indeed! I celebrated by hitting IAH with Nate this afternoon.
Thomas, you missed an honest-to-God QantasLink DHC-8 at our humble airport! I have the proof on a CF card. Big grin

Hey fellow IAH spotters,
Doing some work up in the Empire State for a few months. Probably be back in late June or Aug (though I may head to Minnestota after NY to visit my Mother and take a miss on those H-Town summers this year).
Matt,
I've been following the dispatches via the Spotters Club over the past few weeks and I did indeed see those postings in regards to the QF DHC-8. You know it seems everytime I leave Houston, something interesting always shows up at IAH. Let's see those pics here, Planepictures or the 'Club', a.s.a.p.

Something else recently to occur at IAH was Southwest's last flight. The last day of operations was April 2nd so the final flight (flown by N507SW) was given a water cannon salute as it departed.
If I thought my pictures of it had any chance here, I'd upload one or two but that discussion is for another topic.

Flew out of IAH on Southwest a week before they pulled out as my farewell flight from that boutique station. Oddly enough, this flight was on N508SW, still with aft facing seats.

San Jacinto Day! ... WHAT!, I forgot?
The history buff in me is kicking myself in the a** right now. I should know better since I've been there on multiple occasions.

No... that's a Mexican holiday celebrating the defeat of the French. Other than drinking, there is no link between Mexico and the State of Texas when it comes to May 5

Dallas, itself, may indeed rock. DFW Airport, on the other hand, was designed by baboons on crack. The very same baboons that designed the freeway system up there.

Yep, thanks Matt. Hopefully one day before I die or move, IAH will see a QF 744 or a regular basis (though I am not holding my breath).

Probably will happen at DFW before it ever happens at IAH. However, I suspect if we see Qantas at DFW it won't be a 747-400 but an A340-500.
