just got back from the gym which made me think...

which do you do: towel off standing in the shower or get out of the shower dripping wet and then towel off?

i hate stepping out of the shower all wet and cold then toweling off, so clearly i am of the towel off in the shower camp.

I take my shower first thing in the morning at 6 a.m. When all is said and done, it takes around 15-20 minutes. I use the towel in the shower to stay warm. One of the worst things is getting out of the shower on a cold winter morning..brrr!

I towel off in the shower, so there is no water on the ground when I get out..Common courtesy, not to mention it prevents mold etc.

Uh-oh....Here come the habits we never wanted to know about eachother from the shower.....

As for me, I'm the same way. I HATE towling off on a cold winter morning dripping wet. So, I towl off in the shower until summer...Then it's not so bad. I actually don't mind being a bit cold if it's a hot day. Helps cool ya off.

I hate dripping water all over the floor, because the next thing that happens is: take a step, slip and fall. So unless I'm in a hurry (great paradox there) I towel off in the shower. And I always hold on to something as I'm getting out. I've cracked a couple of wooden towel bars that way (now upgraded to steel.)

I shave in the shower, towel off in the shower, then get out, apply deodorant,
brush my hair, brush my teeth (dodging around a cat or 2 that like to sit on the counter and observe the goings on) then get dressed. Generally it can all be accomplished in 15 minutes or so, though sometimes I'll linger for longer depending on how much sleep I've had and what kind of day I'm expecting at work.

Shower 5-10 minutes. Usually shave beforehand. But if pressed for time will shave "by feel" just with soap. usually some nicks then. Always towel off in the shower before getting out. No muss no fuss. easy to clean up that way.

I dry off in the shower. I absolutely hate people who step out and drip water everywhere and make the mat all wet.

I usually "towel-off" in front of my bedroom window whilst watching the Air-Tran planes land at FLL. Unfortunately, I usually need to then take another shower afterwards...

OMG i cannot believe you try and shave "by feel"

the thought is horrifying, not to mention i can only imagine all the missed patches.

the funny thing people mention about the wet mat is interesting...i have never had to share a bathroom (except communal bathrooms in college one year).

what DOES REALLY ANNOY ME however is when someone uses my shower then steps on the mat and it is no longer nice and fluffly but matted down.

I do both...I dry off initially in the shower so I won't flood my bathroom, then when all the huge drops are gone, I finish drying off outside the shower while I shave, brush my teeth, etc...

I thought this was supposed to be gym shower habits, not home shower habits. Ah well.

Gym - I've only been to ones where you MUST towel off on a special mat outside the open shower area.

Home - On the mat outside the shower, since my towel bar is behind the shower door when I open it, so I have to step out anyway, and mold isn't a problem in Oregon, rust is.  Smile

(No one asked, but I'm finding guys who never had to shower in high school in PE and towel off in front of 200 of their friends and neighbors have the most peculiar showering habits.)

I dry off in the shower to keep myself warm!

One time when I was younger I dried myself off outside the shower and on the tile floor. Well sure enough, after I changed etc, I walked back in and slipped on the water on the tile and my foot when flying under the radiator and sliced it right open!
