Funny you ask....I've been driving my dad's recently, and it's alot of fun. It's an '02, lowered, with a strengthened torsion bar, and racing wheels. But today, while I was at school, I left the headlights on all day. The battery died.

The Sentra does not do too much for me, as it gets spanked by the Neon SRT-4. But, the new Altima, boy is that a beauty. Have you seen the size of the dual exhaust pipes? Only problem is though, they didn't really give it a lot of hp over the standard 3.5. Do you by any chance have any numbers comparing the Altima SE-R's performance to other cars?

I bought one last week, its a Black '02 Spec. This weekend I'm painting my calipers red and taking apart the intake manifold to loctite those damn butterfly screws that are known for destroying our engines.
Car has great power for a 4 cylinder and gets lots of looks. Funny thing is, I always get these POS Z24's and Civics with fart cans and wings that are bigger then the one on the 747 trying to race me. I just don't bother waisting my gas on them.

I have those Civics for lunch very often. I'm thinking about headers. I heard they boost 10-12 HP and you can really feel it. Gas go up? Anybody have them? coments?

Yeah, but the SRT-4 is a dodge and a staight-line car that looks like shit. Plus, its nothing short of RICE, which is what most owners do to it. Did I mention that its a dodge?

Thats a problem with the Se-R line... The Spec-V has the same power as the normal altima. Try this webpage... gives some reference and posible competitors..

My engine has about 1000 miles on it because of them. Nissan replaced it for free.

" Nissan Se-R High performance line"
Oh my god I fell out of my chair laughing at that one
"Yeah, but the SRT-4 is a dodge and a staight-line car that looks like shit. Plus, its nothing short of RICE"
Not to defend the SRT-4 which has some really good acceleration #s but if the SRT-4 is deemed rice right off the bat how the hell do you figure the SE-R isnt?
"Have you seen the size of the dual exhaust pipes? Only problem is though, they didn't really give it a lot of hp over the standard 3.5"
AFAIK the standard Altima is a 2.5 with a 3.5 being the upgrade (Maxima standard) or have I missed something (I dont usually pay attention to uhhh go karts like those)

"Yeah, not sure how the Neon is more rice than a Sentra."
I hate rice, I hate Sentras, I dislike SRT-4s because of their look. Personally, I dont assume every SRT-4 is rice, but SE-Rs are, listen to the fart cannon exhausts and ye shall know!

I own a Nissan Skyline GTR R34 and it goes like a rocket, yet is surprisingly sedate around town. I just pulled the trigger on a new VW Golf GTI - got to wait till the end of May for delivery though
I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

My exhaust is stock and its nice and quite, I can't even hear the engine or exhaust when I'm idling. The second you put on a fart can, body kit or a huge wing, like the SRT-4 has, that makes it RICE.

Stock SRT-4s do not come with modified exhausts, and the eclipse wings the SRT-4 has are not rice. Rice is bolted down wings on Civics and the such. No car is 'rice' when it comes out of the factory, but ive seen more SE-Rs than SRT-4s that are modified to the more extreme.

If its a 99-02 model it does 13.1 in the 1/4 mile.or so japanperformancedirect tells me. Not bad at all, sitting 10 feet below me is a 96 Chevy that pulls 12.7s. You would make a good lunch, speaking of VWs they make me laugh (A Certain canadian on this forum knows hehe)

Smooth as silk exhaust let me tell you... and its already tuned up... anyways, As said b4 the SRT is a Dodge(american car) not many hot rod people trust these cars... I could have baught a cobalt, SRT-4 (neon) or a shitty escort... But hell no! I need easy labor, Good quality, good looks and good parts... Besides, this thread is about Se-R FANS not haters... I do respect your opnion though... maybe we should start a smack talking thread about evrybodies cars I baught all the nerds drive chevy novas but they say they drive Si's, Se-R's and Evo's

1. Thou shall say Bought not baught.
2. Dodge is German now, by your logic.
3. Parts for imports are way MORE expensive than for imports. Its a common known fact that parts (and which takes more labor) will be more expensive for your Nissan than for your Ford (For a comparable part and car most of the time)
4. How in christs name is a SE-R good looks and good quality/parts?

I think they should've turboed it cuz Sentra Se-Rs are kinda slow. They run mid 15s 1/4 mile. I almost beat one in my old Nissan 240sx. That says something by itself when a 1992 rusted old hatchback almost beats a shiny new "racing" Sentra. Same with the IS300, it's a turd. There's better value for the money than a SE-R sentra. I wouldn't say they are "high performance" but just a fairly quick car which is not fast by any means. Good if you are into tuning cars but aren't ready for something super fast. Most new family sedans out there would spank one and they aren't even trying to be fast. My friend beat an SE-R in his Acura 3.2TL. Whatever makes you happy though, I drive a WRX and I love it and I'm sure you feel the same way for the SE-R.
