I thought enough of Malta to make it my sole European trip for this year. We are slated to go in July. I am told there are very nice beaches at various areas. The landscape is said to be scenic and the history is amazing. We hope to see the main island as well as Gozo. According to the 2 guidebooks we bought, there will be plenty to do in 3 days, and I suspect even a week will not be enough to do everything that we would like to do there.

I've been there once. The landscape is rather dull (very typically mediterranean), but the capital La Valetta is truly a cute and amazing place to explore for a day or two. You shouldn't miss the multimedia presentation of Malta called "The Malta Experience" or something like that. Also try to visit the second largest island Gozo. It's a nice day's trip.

I was staying in St. Julians. A gret place to spend long party nights in. Well... enjoy your stay in Malta!

Lovely island, great people, tons of history. Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of beaches but it's one of those places you simply must visit to experience a unique way of life and culture.

3 nights isn't nearly enough but there's plenty to see and do.

Malta?

Isn't that another name for a frosty? I prefer chocolate myself, although strawberry is good too.

Malta is a country in Europe. It consists of two islands, Malta and Gozo. Its capital is La Valetta.

I know it wasn't the right answer for Final Jeopardy on today's episode of Jeopardy.

(It was Crete.)  Big grin

I haven't been, but it's on my list of places to go. My friend goes at least 3 times a year and now has some very good friends there. She has been going for around 20 years and never tires fo the place.
