this is not breaking or earth-shattering news. But it seems Rob and Amber have acknowledged that they think CBS had some influence on the AA pilot who came back to the gate to get Uchenna and Joyce.

excerpt: "When was the last time you ever have seen them close the door of a plane and then turn around and open it after they pulled the Jetway away?" Mariano asked yesterday.

"That pilot owes us a lot of money," Amber said.

Oh waaah. Rob & Amber still won money for placing second in addition to a pre-agreed $500,000 appearance fee from CBS. Somehow I'm not very sympathetic.

Plus, how much do they get for having their wedding televised? No sympathy from me. I still think the right and best team won. Even if with the "jetway incident," they still could have won by figuring out most things in Little Havana are written in Spanish. How much time did they waste looking for something in English? Boo-freakin'-hoo....

Put it this way - Uchenna and Joyce crossed the finish line 45 minutes before Rombuh did and had Uchenna & Joyce not cleared their debt with the cabbie, who knows how much of a lead they would have had.

how do you know it was 45 minutes? what's the source on that? and why do others (maybe not you) also claim that Rob/Kelly's flight to MIA was delayed? what am I missing?

Clearing that debt was a requirment. I noticed they made it seem like a benevolent act, but they had no chioce. Pay or be disqualified.

A radio interview with Uchenna & Joyce

And I know they had to pay the debt, MHam, just pointing out that if there had been no debt, the gap would have been wider than 45 minutes between Uchenna & Joyce and Rombuh.

Poor Rob and Amber! The whole world is out to get them. Yeah, right. Get a life you two, and shut up.

Seriously, I am sick and tired of this.

It was the good will nature of the pilot that let U&J get back on the freakin' plane, and nothing else. When two people with a TV crew are begging to get back on a plane, you don't need producers calling you up to get special treatment. They did get special treatment, but not because CBS called, but rather for the simple fact that they were with a TV crew.

Rob & Amber are the LAST couple on the face of the earth who should be complaining that TV notariety gave a couple a leg up on the race. Recall how they were recognized at the Soweto market, and other places along the race, and helped along because of their fame?

Of course the pilot helped Uchenna & Joyce get on the plane. I'm sure both the gate agent and the pilot were hoping for a close-up in the broadcast. If you've ever been to San Juan airport and knew the layout, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the pilot was able to see everything going on at the gate, including the lights and camera of the TV crew.

It was simply human nature and lust for fame that helped U/J along the way, same as it helped R/A along as well. I thought this was one of the most exciting seasons so far, mainly because of the competition that R/A added to the mix, and in the end, they made two important errors, not yielding U/J when they had the chance, and not figuring out the clue to the cigar shop, both of which turned out to be fatal errors.

Uchenna & Joyce won fair and square, and deserve every last penny of the grand prize.

If you listen to the entire radio interview, it explains the entire situation behind the plane doors being re-opened. So happy U/J won, couldn't have happened to a nicer, more deserving couple!

I believe it was all set up from the beginning. Romber got their money just for taking part in the Race (plus all the prizes which were always when they were first). In return their role was to play "badguys" and fight fiercely till the end.

Don't forget the time they talked their way onto that "closed" flight in Argentina.

IIRC, the footage shown of the jetway changing back and forth was of an AA 738, and not the AA A300 they were actually on...so if that was the pilot's motive, he whiffed on that count...

As far as I'm concerned, Rob and Amber are arrogant and selfish losers who can't handle the fact that they came second. They didn't give a toss when they saw the crashed land rover carring the two brothers and when they were asked at the finish line if they passed the crash scene, and Rob said yes, the way he answered proved that he is a selfish loser who doesn't a toss about anyone else, as long as he and Amber wins. They need to grow up and accept the fact that they lost and the world does not evolve around them.

As far as their complaint goes and them saying the pilot owes them money ebcause he allowed the winners on board...... BOO HOO HOO

There thats my raint over
