I am SO SICK of those f*cking pop-up ads for the X-10 wireless webcam. They are friggin' EVERYWHERE! I called the company to bitch, but I got put in a phone cue, presumable filled with other annoyed complainers. I wound up writing them a nasty e-mail

Does this type of annnoyance-marketing actually work? I don't think it's a good idea to piss off your potential customer base.

How would anyone know they're there if they didn't have ads? Granted they're all over and DO get annoying, but if they weren't there how many of us would know about the camera?

Well, I myself, anytime ANY commercial starts on the boob tube, I automatically hit the MUTE button. I'd rather spend that time talking with my girlfriend or even our cats! (although they don't say much).

As far as the MOST "annoying" ads go...by far...hands down, it's those dam commercials about female hygene! Why do I have to be told over and over and over about who's got the best maxi pad...with WINGS!  Big thumbs up

By the way, my girlfriend agrees with me.

Take Care

There's also a new one popping up on Airliners.net, saying "You have one message waiting for you".

Damn ads.

I don't see how it could possibly work. Pop up ads annoy the living hell out of me and they are everywhere now. I even signed up for a server to host my dog's website that didn't have any types of ads. I sent them my money, put up my site, and now they have banners AND those awful pop ups! Ugh.
