This guy was well known of course for playing the Riddler in ten or eleven episodes, plus the movie, which for me would have been enough....

....but he was a film and television actor whose body of work as a sought after character actor and voice includes over 80 films. He played everything from the 3rd extra in a forgotten western to a featured guest on Star Trek (the guy with the split white and black face fighting the other one with the opposite color split in a well known racial allegory episode) to a villainous recurring character on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, to being himself on comedy/variety shows such as Jackie Gleason and Flip Wilson (the funniest show in history), to being a stock villain in action and drama movies, both A and B, and finally even being the voice of Yosemite Sam and Daffy Duck! His range and versatility made him someone whose acting helped make recognizable more than one character in popular culture.

His presence and performances will be missed.

Is my Pan Am ticket to the moon still good?

He was a featured performer on an episode of "The Ed Sullivan Show" that was on one of our local PBS stations a while back. I'd really never had a chance to see him in any other venue than "Batman".
