Forgot to add my opinion...

I strongly support Beijing , it's time for a developing country in Asia to show the world what we've got...

I would have liked Havana to have received it, but since they're out, I would like it to be Beijing. But I don't think they'll get it...I think the lucky ones will be Toronto...I can just smell it in the air....

I am hoping Toronto gets them. I live 45 minutes away and figure I can make a killing turning my house into a bed and breakfast for the three weeks.

Oops excuse me, I got caught up in what the Olympics have become, a giant commercial enterprise for multi-national corporations.

Seriously, I hope Toronto does get them and I think they have a real good shot.

I'd like to see Bejing get the olympics. Toronto would be good too, but they had them in Montreal not too long ago. I know that Houston is making a bid for the 2012 olympics.

It would be nice if Beijing would get it, a great boost for the countries image and all, but I even with all the improvents the government is making to the city I doubt it would be more enjoyable for the fans and athelets to have it there rather than Paris (great ambiance), Toronto (very nice all around city), or Osaka (can probably accomodate the Olympics easily, and the Japanese definitely know how to treat guests).

Beijing. They lost to Sydney by a very narrow margin. By 2008, the last time the Summer Olympics will have been held in Asia is 1988, Seoul.

I'm sure the IOC would like to spread the Olympics around, especially since China is such a potentially HUGE market. North America gets the Olympics often enough.

I hope toronto gets them because it 45 minutes away from where I live and I would love to have them that close and there is even talk that my city could see some action.

I may be Australian,

But I think that Beijing is not up to hosting the Olympics, Paris well, just too french, not to mention the horror of going to the airport. Osaka, Maybe but

TORONTO should get it because I love the city, it's perfect to hold the games.

How many times have these countries hosted the Olympic games?

I know Paris hosted twice already , once in 1900 but those were ages ago

Japan hosted the game once in Tokyo , how about Osaka?

Canada , China or Beijing ...I'm not sure.. any help?

Jak

PS. can you clarify what you meant by "Just too french?"

I hope Cape Town get's it as well, but we're not running for 2008. We gonna try Soccer World cup 2010, cause we lost the 2006 bid, and we were sooooooooooo pissed off with fifa, that basically the whole country signed a petition to FIFA to make sure that the 2010 soccer world cup goes to an African country...they also made a new rule that from now on they're going to rotate which host country should host the soccer world cup from continent to continent. I think that it much more fair!

It will definelitly be either Toronto or Beijing. I know L.A. wants to bid again, for 2012. That would make L.A. a three time Olympic host city!

25 Louis : Beijing is my guess. The chinese are going to put in a very strong bid and there's the potential market arguement as well.
26 Bombstar : i think Toronto should get it, More live media coverage can be made to north america due to the time zones, the language is english which is what most
27 DeltaRNOmd-80 : does anyone know if Florida lost its bid? Tampa had a bid that would have events stretched from central Florida to Northeast Florida. They were planni
