.........does anyone else find 'Friends' rubbish?

No matter how many times I watch it, I cannot raise a laugh. It is on at the moment as I am on the PC but still trying to figure it out.

Possibly the 'canned laughter'
Possibly the crap acting

Sorry, but try as I might, I cannot laugh.

Maybe I am strange, but I can sum it up in one word:

RUBBISH

It's american humor I find it funny, but I don't get British humor at all. I guess it is like that or something, I really don't know.

I just wonder how these people in their early 20's are able to get such great jobs and appartments in New York City. Doesn't Rachel work for Ralph Lauren or somthing? Kinda unrealistic, and sucky acting. Though I can laugh at it.

I don't think the show deserves all the popularity and praises it gets. I guess its ok, but its definetely not my favorite sitcom.

No, you're on the money. Feeble and predictable attempts at humor.

I'm also with Granite & some advice: Just don't watch it.

Frasier is closer to my drier sense of humour.

Roll on Monty Python.

Yeah, "Friends" sucks. Unfortunately, it is on par with most American programming. There are only four shows worth viewing in the USA.

1. Any baseball game.
2. The Simpsons
3. Sports Center
4. Baseball Tonight (on right after Sports Center)

And as a wild card: Any airshow coverage.

Also, I'm finding Wimbleton and the British Open to be quite fascinating, but then again, that isn't exactly American programming.

Friends does suck. It got old about 5 years ago. Now they all need to die. Spin City is easily better than Friends; funnier too.

I never really watched it. But when I was in England/France/Switzerland for a couple weeks this summer, I got so used to crappy European television that when Friends came on I actually enjoyed it. Not that European TV may seem crappy to all of you, but ya know. European news is much better.

"Friends" totally sucks. It really pisses me off when UA makes me a captive audience to it by playing this garbage on their "NBC Inflight Network".

"No matter how many times I watch it"? One stupid show deserves a second chance. The second should tell you all you need to know.

Hi all

Thanks for your replies  Smile

I have to say that there are three American programmes that I like and watch:

1. Frasier
2. The Simpsons
3. The Rugrats

Yeh, I am just over 30 years old, but the Rugrats are fantastic. I try and purchase any videos I can of them.

Ragrats in Paris on DVD will be out soon Big grin

lol i think Rugrats teaches children badly

Simply because all the words are mis-pronounced and the meanings are misunderstood (purposely i might add) so children of 6 or under will start saying it (sorry can't think of any examples at the mo Big grin)

Cheers
