To all of you SEA a.netters, it's been almost exactly a year (!) since our meet, so I thought it was time for a flashback thread. Post all of your favorite recollections... I have a few:
Pizzaandplanes, Ear muffs!
Why is a 757 like a good woman, long legs and high perky jugs!
The 3 Drunk Amigos (WindowSeat, CharliB52, and yours-truly) picking up Type-Rated from the aiport
and last but not least:
The look of complete awe on every one of your 20 geek faces as we got up underneath a half-assembled 737. And everytime we saw or heard something new, all these geekish little grins peeking up everywhere. In fact, I think I heard a climactic moment or two: "ughhhhh"..
I miss all you guys tons. Where're you at? What are you doing these days?

Steve, I was looking back at the thread and the photos the other day. You know where I am - not too far north of you!
Favourite recollections: the Teague tour - getting to see the 787 mockup, and walking the 737 line. Could it get much better? Oh, and watching the first 757 land from on top of the concrete blocks. It was such a blast!
I was thinking about putting together an A.net picnic at the watertower just north of SEA some weekend in July or August. Will you be able to go?

Of course April! I am so there with my bells on! And lots of beer!
Oh and I found a new song you HAVE to download.. it's just awesome. "Alcohol" by Brad Paisley.. here's the lyrics. heheheheh
Alcohol - Brad Paisley
Genre/Lang. : Country
I can make anybody pretty.
I can make you believe any lie.
I can make you pick a fight with somebody twice your size.
Well, I’ve been known to cause a few break-ups,
An' I’ve been known to cause a few births.
Well, I can make you new friends, or get you fired from work.
And since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg an' Bordeaux, France,
Been making the bars lots of big money,
An' helpin' white people dance.
I got you in trouble in High School,
But College, now that was a ball.
You had some of the best times you’ll never remember with me:
Alcohol; Alcohol.
I got blamed at your wedding reception,
For your best man’s embarrassing speech.
And also for those naked pictures of you at the beach.
I’ve influenced Kings and world leaders,
I helped Hemingway write like he did.
And I’ll bet you a drink or two, that I can make you put that lampshade on your head.
‘Cause since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg and Bordeaux, France,
I been making a fool out of folks just like you,
An' helping white people dance.
I am medicine and I am poison,
I can help you up or make you fall.
You had some of the best times you’ll never remember with me:
Alcohol.
Yeah, since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg an' Bordeaux, France,
Been making the bars lots of big money,
(Helpin' white people dance.)
Yeah, I got you in trouble in High School,
But College, now that was a ball.
You had some of the best times you’ll never remember with me:
Alcohol; Alcohol.

How about this one? This is Spirit of the West, a band from Vancouver. This song is called "Home for a Rest".
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
These so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink I need home for a rest.
We arrived in December and London was cold
We stayed in the bars along Charing Cross Road
We never saw nothin' but brass taps and oak
Kept a shine on the bar with the sleeves of our coats
CHORUS:
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a week
I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations
Will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink
I need home for a rest
Take me home....
Euston Station the train journey North
In the buffet car we lurched back and forth
Past old crooked dykes through Yorkshire's green fields
We were flung into dance as the train jigged and reeled
- CHORUS -
By the light of the moon, she'd drift through the streets
A rare old perfume, so seductive and sweet
She'd tease us and flirt, as the pubs all closed down
Then walk us on home and deny us a round
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month
I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations
Will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink
I need home for a rest
Take me home....
The gas heater's empty, it's damp as a tomb
The spirits we drank now ghosts in the room
I'm knackered again, come on sleep take me soon
And don't lift up my head 'till the the twelve bells at noon
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month
I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations
Will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink
I need home for a rest
Take me home....

Not bad April, not bad at all.. I like it!
But seriously, yeah. Give me a call anytime and we'll plan this thing out, I'm sure we can get Garrett to go too.. I see him pretty often. (Got his ass drunk this last weekend.. then went out to Capitol Hill. Now THAT'S a whole other story! )

eh... I dunno about Ian. I'm sure Vik would strongly think about it. But yeah, all of the locals for sure. Definitely Joby (the Microsoft guy), that guy was cool beans! I feel bad I haven't been in touch with him... but I've lost his number. So Microsoft guy, if you see this, call me so we can plan this drunken spotting get-together!

Stevie....Debbie wants to know if you still have your girlfriend...y'know..the latest one we met....
Yes...that tour in SEA at the 737 plant....which is closed to the everyday public..was incredible. It will always be one of the highlights of my aviation geek life....I actually stood in the wheel well of a CO 737 while they were building it and spoke to the tech who was assembling the thing and kindly explaining to me what he was doing while smiling benignly at me telling him he had the coolest job on the face of the earth...
I'm up for another get-together up there. I'll bet Vik'll come up.and so will Aerobalance if we schedule it right...and I'd say Superfly could find the time on a weekend to come up. It ought to be later this year as there are some things I am doing later this month.....ahem, at the Salon so to speak... and then NYC for a weekend in August.
Oh, BTW.....Stephen started the lightsaber fight...I had to finish it....He was surprised to hear he was my son.....

Absolutely! count me in!
It was the best meet I have ever been to. Since I will come up from SFO I would want to make it a weekend out of it. So, if anyone else is up for it, let me know. Dinker should be able to make it too, he gets back from Australia on July 12. So, as long as we plan it after that, I'm sure he will make it.
We all need to get drunk together again!
cheers

Dinker gets to do all the cool stuff...he's been in Australia...probably surfing, and he'll probably be back skiing this winter in CO.

Ian,
Dinker is also driving from Vail to ANC this summer. Now why would anyone want to do that?
Sorry Alex, couldn't resist!
