I don't really care for beer.

It tastes like watered down oatmeal to me.. and looks like the end product..

It doesn't mean I don't drink though, if you had my girlfriend you would drink too.

I used to be able to, and frequently did, down a six pack w/o thinking about it. However, in the last couple of years I can't really drink more than two beers or a couple of glasses of wine w/o feeling like shit the next day, so I've pretty much laid off the beer. If I drink at all anymore it's wine or the occasional gin and tonic.

I don't drink any alcohol, never have. Besides not liking the taste, I just don't ever want to put myself in a position where I don't know what I'm doing, and have to have someone else tell me what I did later when I would have sobered up. I've been the "designated driver/walker" for friends over the years, and I'd never want to be in the conditions that I've seen several friends in.

I used to drink beer a lot, now I have a Hiatus hernia which means any more than a pint and I am full. So I drink spirits and wine instead (not mixed - most of the time!). I also drink a lot less than in my youth. Having a splitting headache and hangover for several days no longer appeals to me.

But in Madrid in October................. Big grin

I drink alcohol, sometimes in seriously stupid amounts, but I am seriously considering limiting myself to a maximum of 3 pints per outing. This would not only save me bucketloads of money, but it would also enable me to have a better time.

There are more carbs in a bottle of beer, than in an entire plate of pasta! No way!!! Besides, it tastes awful, and leaves you feeling bloated.. nothing like a glass of red wine, if you ask me.. yum!

Beer is toxic sludge. The first glug of a very cold beer on a very hot day can be good, but after that the pleasure rapidly diminishes. I much prefer something blue-green in colour with at least 7 ingredients, one of which must be pineapple juice, served with an umbrella and a cherry (and a sparkler on special occasions).
