Hi all,

I just got back from NY and now I am planning another trip, but this time with my family (wife and my 4 year old). Since the words "four year old" and "Orlando" are pretty synonymous, I would like to ask your opinion.

Have you been to Universal Studios and MGM Studios (part of Disney Park) down in Orlando? I only want to go to one of these but can't decide which one. Any help would be great!

Universal studios are number one in the world. I visited Universal and Island of Adventure last july. MGM Ivisited a few years ago. In a Disney park you pay 40$ only for being in a Disney park.
In Universal you pay foer the shows and rides.
Men in Black ride is gigantic!
But Island of adventure is number one for coasters and water rides, better than Bush Gardens in Tampa.
We had a combination for Universal and Island, it was a two day ticket about 75$, and you can enter the park at 7 in the morning and then you have 2hours alone with a small couple of others, and from 9 to 10 you have to show your pass and you can go to front without one minute of waiting time.
 Big thumbs up

Universal Studios! They have some of the greatest shows, make sure you see Waterworld!

while you are in Orlando, be sure to check out Blizzard Beach (a Disney water park). Altho the 4 year old may not want to ride it, you can go down the tallest and fastest water slide in the U.S.A., the Summit Plummet.

SQ325, I really wish I had the time to head over to Tampa but I don't. I'd love to check that out. We are going to be hitting the southern part of Florida after we go to Orlando, like Miami and the Keys, etc. Maybe next time on the Tampa trip.

I will!!!

DeltaRNOmd-80, that sounds exciting! I just gotta make sure I find a babysitter while i take the ride  Smile.

OK, so far we have all Universal Studios and no MGM. Hmmmm, I'm starting to detect a pattern here.

Anymore advise is more than welcome! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, i live in Orlando, so here it goes--

Disney is old, and has old rides, Disney hasnt added anything new for a long time. Except for Animal Kingdom, which is basically a $50 zoo!

Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure are FAR superior to all of the Disney parks. Islands of Adventure has 4 roller coasters. 3 or so water rides, and tons of kitty rides. Universal is still the same Universal Studios (it has gone unchanged for awhile-hence the opening of IOA) There is also Universal CityWalk which is a nightlife and shopping district type thing with plenty of nightly entertainment. There is Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Emerils, and the Hard Rock Cafe there. There are also about 5 clubs, LatinQuarter, The Groove, and others. Universal also has 2 hotels, the Portofino Bay ($250/night and ****) and the Hard Rock Hotel (EXTEREMELY NICE and brand new) which runs about $120/night. Definitely check out Disney (the Magic Kingdom, just for kicks) but i would mainly target the universal theme parks.

OK, so it sounds like it's gonna be Universal Studios!!!! since it seems to be the unanimous favorite. Thanks.
