Ramblings Over The Last Month

A few ramblings since I've missed so much the last month, when I was banned for no good reason.

-So, London can attest to the fact that the war on terror hasn't made us much safer? Be that as it maiy, may the Lord bless and keep those who perished and their families. May He strike down those who claim to act in his name. There'll be more time to point fingers later.

-So Jeb Bush isn't going to have Michael Schiavo prosecuted after all? Good. Now will her attention-starved parents realize their 15 minutes is up, and just be quiet? Thank you.

-Didn't my ban that just ended start LAST Hurricane season? Sure feels like it.

-Scarlet Harlot-way to give Rsmith a major shaft. Well done!

-KROC. Your almost-40 year cracks about Cleveland the Cuyahoga River stopped being funny 39 years ago, mate. Better get new material. Better yet-try working on Crapchester's image first before pounding others, OK?

-I thought of changing my handle to ConTurdSlayer, but it just doesn't roll off the tongue very well.

-The Yankees are saying "who's your daddy" to the Indians. So what else is new....

-The Instant Poll on CNN recently asked the question "What's the Best Way to Fight Terrorism?" The three possible answers were: 1. Promote Democracy; 2. Military Action, and 3. Tighter Security. By a narrow margin "Military Action" was seen as the choice. Uh, what part of Iraq do we NOT get? Military action against who? Nameless thugs in London? Just blindly striking a nation that might have had not a thing to do with the act? Military action is fine, if you know that those you hit are guilty of something. Bush must be getting a woody reading such replies.

-No, I didn't count down the days till I came back-not until 3 days out.  Big grin

-Oh, my wife and kids (you know, the ones a certain member says I constantly abuse?) got me a black Lab Puppy for Father's Day. She's already eating me out of house and home.

-I'll take The AG as a Supreme Court Justice. If the right wing nutjobs don't like him, I'm all for him.

-Anyone seen Roy lately?

-And why is everyone still rubbing their breasts with olive oil? That's so Aprilish of you.

Having a strong temperment and a resolved mind are valuble assets. You are leaning toward hard-headedness on this one point, however. Perhaps it was a hasty decision, but I said I'd do it, and so I did. Nothing more. If I'd come back before 30 days, you all would probably post a John Kerry Waffle House picture every time I posted.

See, I told you you could argue with me.

Ok,

English 101 here

When I said "Logan, Wayfarer and Rsmith are holding..."
The intent was to ADDRESS Logan, then say that Wayfarer and Rsmith....

If I had said "Logan, Wayfarer, and Rsmith..." The comma after Wayfarer is what would include or exclude Logan in the group. As my initial statment omitted the comma after Wayfarer, Logan is not included in the group.
Now Logan if you want to admit to something, I'm sure we won't make TOO many sheep jokes about you either  Wink !!

Quoting 1MillionFlyer (Reply 13):

Workbench has been quiet enough to warrant ommision as of late; but I'll certainly keep the mention in mind for the next time I have an A.net sheep shaggers list.

Actually, I've been taught that the comma after the penultimate member of a list is optional; both ways are correct. Be that as it may, the use of the salutory : would have saved me hours of psychological damage, Ted.  Wink

Cheers.

Though I agree with you, from what I learned, the comma thing doesn't really make a difference. "Logan, Wayfarer and RSmith" is the same as (and is actually more correct than) "Logan, Wayfarer, and RSmith." English sucks that way.  Smile

And a big welcome back to the Falconer.  wave
