First let me say that I am not a huge stock car racing fan, I'd take an open wheel race any day. I do live in what is arguably the Racing Capital of the World afterall. But, I will turn on a NASCAR race if there is nothing else decent on television. I believe (in my opinion) that Fox and FXs coverage of NASCAR events are superior to that of NBC and TNT. The only thing NBC and TNT had going for them was Alan Bestwick and Wally Dallenbach in the booth, the rest of their crew seem a little out of their league (no offense, I'm afraid of getting ). Now, NBC has had a couple Cup races already this year. Why in the world did they put Alan Bestwick on pit lane and put Bill Weber in the Booth with Wally? Alan knows what he is talking about and Bill Weber was a pretty decent pit lane reporter and pre-race show host. Alan knows the "Ins" and "Outs" of the NASCAR world and has some good, close personal friends that are directly involved in that sport. BTW, when is Benny going to retire? He was a good driver in his day and he has a lot to be proud about, but it gets hard to listen to the broadcast when he's on the tube.

I watch every NASCAR race - I prefer the Fox coverage. Actually have retired/current DRIVERS doing the commentating. Simple as that. They can/did walk the walk - not just talk the talk.

You gotta love Darryl Waltrip on FOX. Not only was an excellent driver in his day (still dirves part of the year for Toyota in the Craftsman Truck Series), his younger brother Michael is an active Nextel Cup driver, and he is a defenite character and can talk (sometimes too much). BOOGITEE, BOOGITEE, BOOGITEE. The NBC guys are a bit bland. Wallenbach was mainly an Indy/CART series driver but also did some NASCAR races for a number of years. Benny Parsons was a great driver, but getting a little old. Of course, in a few weeks, NASCAR will be of minor interest to me as the NFL season will be starting.

NBC should've kept Allen Bestwick in the booth...he's more enjoyable to listen to than Bill Weber is. Bill's a good pit reporter & Allen's better in the booth than he is on pit road. Probably the only advantage of putting Weber in the booth is that we don't have to deal with the overdramatic interviews & Victory Lane interviews he used to do.
Overall, FOX is better though.

Lastly, let me just say:
No...you've got it all wrong!
I just wish we'd see things like this more often...it's becoming more and more bleak looking every week for us Gordon fans. Yesterday's race was pathetic...I want to know what the hell's going on with his team.
DeltaRules definetely knows what he is talking about. 24 all the way baby!

I too am wondering what the hell is wrong? They go from having a top 5 car to bring to every race (and I do mean every race) to cars that can barely break the top 10 and 15? I dont understand it, hopefully he will make the chase.

"Boogity Boogity Boogity Let's go racin' boys"
Enough said on this topic. The NBC boys are a yawn compared to DW, Larry Mac & Mike Joy.
I think Gordon is just having a bad season, much like how Matt Kenseth (remember him?!) have gone. Would you have picked Kenseth and Gordon to be (in reality) the worst drivers for Roush and Hendrick?

I'm enjoying NBC's coverage better than FOX's for one reason:

NBC's coverage sucks. I find their staff borish and uninformed. All due respect to Benny Parsons, but I think his image is better suited to life insurance commercials. Gimmee motor-mouthed DW over stuffy suit wearing BP any time. Who the @#&*!! wears a suit to a race for crying out loud?
Only gripe about FOX is the use of graphics. Stats and instant info is great, but I'd like to see and hear less things taking my eyes away from the race. They really overdo it in their NFL coverage.
And everyone should jump on this practice of split screen advertising, like I see on ESPN. Even if its only in the last quarter of a race, fans should get to see the end uninterrupted.

FOX's booth crew dresses in suits & ties for the Nextel Cup races, as well as NBC's. I don't know if FOX's guys do for the Busch races- I just remember seeing Mike, DW & Larry in collared shirts with the "NASCAR on FOX/NASCAR FX" logo in the upper corner.
