Disappointed and sad to see him go, he was one of the greatest midfielders ever to wear the Arsenal shirt. I respect his decision, he has been at Arsenal for nine years and always gave 100%, not many players show that kind of loyalty these days. All the best for him in Italy.

Arsenal let him go after a £13.75m offer? That's ridiculous!

Signed,

Ronaldinho

£14 million is a decent amount to get for a player that's nearly 30, considering Arsenal bought him for only £3.5 million! Vieira has three or four years left in his prime form. Fortunately we have exciting players like Fabregas and Flamini who are more than capable of filling Vieira's role. We still need a replacement though, someone like Michael Ballack would fit the bill.

Yes, I agree! I just wanted to make a bit fun of Chelsea and their ridiculous £120m offer for Ronaldinho.

Rumor has it that Ballack is demanding €10m per year from Bayern, I am not sure if Mr. Hoenes is willing to give him so much. Another rumor was that Manchester United is also interested in him, well, I am curious what happens in the next weeks.

well, pretty much Mr. Ballack is a great player but don´t think he´s still so young to ask for that, you know, older, maybe more frequent injuries....my guess tough

Only? I was reading numbers that were much higher ... around 25-30 mill EU.

By the way, according to Spanish press, Vieira offered himself to Real but the club dismissed any interest because of last year, when apparently Vieira backed dow to join RM at the last moment when everything had been arranged.

Robinho has an excellent future if he manages to handle the pressure. I've seen him play and he is amazing, but many players that are so big so young ended up being nobody's ... I honestly hope this won't be the case!

regards

Chelsea never offered that amount to Barca for Ronaldinho. That amount is the buy out clause in his contract and people were wondering if Chelsea will be able to match it. If they do offer that money, Barca will have to let him go because that's what the contract says. Which means that the 120m was never put on the table.

As for P Viera, I think Arsenal are doing a good business by selling him. He probably would have preferred to stay but it's likely that he took the advice of the club and accepted the offer. He may not be worth half that money in a year or two. Good call on Arsenal's side.

We already win the fairplay award.

Robinho is a little wanker. I want to play at Arsenal its my dream to play next to Henry, I would love that. I cant wait I hope Arsenal make an offer for me.

Suddendly RM come with their bigger check book and the little kid starts declaring his undying love for RM. It has been my dream to play for RM, I cant wait to play for them. He wasnt even going to practice for his South American club as he said I am a RM player when nothing had been organised.

Well you've just bought yourselves one of the most incredible talents in modern football, Alex Hleb. Trust me on this one, he played at Stuttgart for 5 years, I saw him live on many occasions. Unbelievably skilled, elegant player...enjoy him. I'm pretty sad he left, but ok, Arsenal's offer was quite good and fair!

I know it's only VfB but I like it!

Yes but all great players usually start off in smaller, less well known teams before making a big money moves to a bigger club. Rooney, Everton>>>>United
Sol Campbell, Spurs>>>>>Arsenal, Rio Ferdinand, West Ham>>>>>Leeds>>>>>United etc.....

Yup, i was actually going to start another thread! Congrats to SP! I guess that in a way it says something good of River Plate ... we lost to the champions and we only lost by two goals in Morumbi! SP proved to be the best team so they deserve this cup. Congrats!!

Erm, Arsenal have won that for the last 2 seasons.

As for Vieira, i was suprised, bu now with hleb we might play a diamond formation in the middle

------ Hleb
Reyes ---- Ljungberg
---- Gilberto

I'm sure Arsene has something up his sleeve. I'm excited to see what it is!

Absolutely, a lot of gooners might be nervous seeing someone like Patrick leave, but Arsene Wenger is a master at buying and selling players, his track record proves it. Have faith.
