A US man shot his postman so that he would get sent to prison for life and escape his crippling medical debts, investigators say.

I've read that somewhere between 40 and 60 million Americans are without health coverage at any given time, and yet it still amazes me that someone would even consider doing something like this.

He should have tried bank robbery. He would likely get caught, but in the mean time be making a steady income. Should he never get caught, all the better; the debts are paid and he is a free man.

Quoting Sean1234 (Reply 2):

LOL!

Still, shooting people just because you have your own personal issues is ultra-pathetic IMO. Just commit suicide if your life sucks that bad. Simple. Easy. Effective.  Big grin

He wasn't in a normal frame of mind... The bill is still there, but if its not in his mailbox he doesn't have to pay it?

Offing yourself just means your family gets to pay your bills... especially because most life insurance doesn't cover suicide.

Sad.. especially for the mailman who was just doing his job.
