Nissan North America Inc. said Monday it will recall more than 140,000 Murano sport utility vehicles amid concerns that a broken wire in the alternator could deplete power to the engine and lead to a crash.

How the hell can a broken wire cause a crash? Alternator wire breaks ---> battery dies ---> ignition shuts down ---> engine dies ---> coast to a stop ---> use cell phone to call for a tow . Unless someone has once again overengineered a simple thing into a clusterf*ck.

Quoting Superfly (Thread starter): This should be recalled just for being so damn UGLY!
YUCK!
Obvious you've never driven one. They drive like a dream, and the interior room is incredible. Especially the rear seats, when compared to others. I love the murano.

I second that, though it does not have a third bench, so the interior room is just alright.
And superfly, the FX has to be one of the most gorgeous and daring designs to ever hit the streets. Even better is the optional 315 hp V8.

Nothing compares to the seat in a Volvo (or even a Saab).

The FX45 looks great, in my opinion. Their mufflers can be pretty annoying, though... they sound like the commercials, but less throaty growl and more annoying rattle. My mom was on the verge of trading her Explorer in for one, but decided upon spending the $$ on a camper tralier.

I don't need to drive one. I am sure they can handle great an all but it's hard to look at. Then again, I don't like any car-based SUVs.
If I want performance and lots of space, give me a Mercury Maurader.

This makes the Aztec look pretty"
Ha-ha, Superfly; I'll have to pass that along to my stepmom. She loves her Murano but it's clear the AMC Gremlin-like roofline has been controversial. I rather agree with you myself, though, and also prefer the Aztek's styling.
"Oh, Superfly, I think it’s Infiniti cousin, the FX, is a looker."
Flying Texan, my father agrees wholeheartedly with you but I also side with Superfly on the FX. Its designer said it was inspired by a "bionic cheetah". It's fortunate for Infiniti nobody really knows what a bionic cheetah would look like; he can say anything he wants about his design. Both of these SUVs are superb vehicles, of course, but their styling philosophies are indeed peculiar.
