Hi all

Just a quick question for you techie wizz's.

I'm using IE6 and OE6 and want to send someone a web page view as I see the page at my end but I've no idea how to do it/save it. The page contains details of an online account so I am unable to send the recipient the web URL and my passwords etc in order to do it themselves at their end. How do I see what I'm seeing, so-to-speak, and mail it to someone else ?

Same question goes for those who post their desktops on here, how is it done ?

 confused

Cheers,

Rob K  Wink

1. Bring the page up in IE6.

2. Click "FILE"

3. Click "SEND"

4. Click "PAGE BY EMAIL"

can't you select all, copy and save to the body of an e mail?

You can also be displaying the page in IE.. hit "Print Screen" alt-tab to OL, create the message, then do a ctrl-v to insert the screen capture.

Be very careful with that!

If you save the HTML page, it is possible that it contains your user account and password information invisibly to you, but recoverable from the HTML source text.

I would strongly advise against giving such a page to anybody else.

If you select the visible text and paste it into an email, for instance, it wouldn´t look as pretty but you can check for any account information and edit it out if necessary; That may be a better way.

Or make a screen shot, if nothing sensitive is visible there.

Sadly, this is like a window within a page and ask such, doesn't have any drop down menus along the top of it. Any ideas ?

I guess that would have worked fine under normal circumstances.

Not sure I'm with you ? I see that holding ALT down gives me a box with an icon of all my current pages which I've got open and TAB naturally scrolls through them. I've selected the page I want and pressed CTRL+V in a new mail but nothings happening except pasting in some writing I copied and pasted earlier in the day.

 confused

Hit the print screen button, open some image editor (paint or whatever), paste the screenshot into that using ctrl-V, and save it as a jpg file.

Right, found it now  bigthumbsup  but it doesn't appear to do anything when I press it and the cursor just blinks off and on once.
