I remember when I first soloed - I was scared shitless for the entire taxi out. Once I got on the active and throttled up, I was fine but I was so excited when I landed for the last time that I taxied straight to the flight school's ramp (and forgot I'd left my instructor out by the runway). The tower called and asked if I had just soloed and I told them yes. They said "Congratulations! Now you're cleared to taxi to runway xx to pick up your instructor!" Oops! They were laughing like crazy over that one (like it had never happened before!)
Anyway, congratz!

That IS a funny story! Didn't like your flight instructor?? I wasn't scared per se, I was just thinking "I can't believe I'm doing this!" I would describe it as being in a focused trance while being super hyped up and excited at the same time. What a day!
Thanks for the congratulations everyone. Kevin, you're the best!

Congratulations! You'll never forget this day, as long as you live.
