Are Red-Headed People In Hiding?

Why do people have red hair?

Red hair is most commonly associated with people of British or Irish descent although it can be found in many other parts of the world. Scotland is the country with the highest content of red haired people which includes 13% of their population. It is estimated that 2 to 5 percent of the population of the United States has red hair. In European descendants the people with red hair have significantly thicker hair than the ones with other hair colors.

There are many common misconceptions about red-heads some of them being that they have hot tempers and that red hair skips a generation.

Why do we have differences in hair color? In mammals hair color is quite important for camouflage. Leopards' spotted coats or tigers' stripes blend into the background and thus helps with stalking prey.

I think red-headed chicks are HOT! But, my question is: If red hair is a camouflage, what are they hiding from? Or are they secretly stalking us non-red-heads?

That has happened to my nephew. He has a head full of red hair, and none of our family have it, or the fathers. We are distantly related to scotland via the Cambells/Mcgregors, some clan up there. Thats how we think he got it

(And no, my sis did not sleep around)
