I'd like to see it happen.
There are so many gay men in airlines industry plus lots of gay travellers. There should be a place to meet and f*** in the airport!  Wink

Hope there will be one soon!!  Smile

Let's just blame it on yields.

We have a gay bar in NYC called "the hangar" with an airport theme. As to an airport Gay Bar... well, wherever I go it's automatic. I'm not sure I want to see a pilot drinking before a flight, gay or otherwise!

I had to look up at my calendar in my office and say "wait a minute it is not April 01." But nice try.

Are you wanting to open it or just be a patron though?

The problem is you probably wouldn't get any FAs or Pilots in there as they aren't allowed to drink in uniform... however once they're out of it...

No offense intended, but I think it's very tacky. I have never been into the "gay-scene" and I never will be. It's just not my thing. And something that always puzzles me (again I am not attacking the thread starter, this is a general remark)... I just CAN'T understand people who support things like gay bars, gay gyms, gay saunas, gay schools, and then have the guts to claim they are being discriminated against. Sorry, but if you back up those kinds of activities, then you are isolating yourself from the rest of society, not the other way around. If you want to be treated like other people, don't go pretending like you need to get some kind of special treatment.

That's my opinion anyways. And for the newbies here, YES I am gay too.

And where did he say that straights couldn't enter a hypothetical airport gay bar???

Hmmmm, sorry flyAUA, gotta disagree with you there, but only to a certain extent. I met my partner in work and at the time he was living with another guy but it was all going a bit "pear shaped".

I didn't live in Manchester at the time, having only been in the job a couple of weeks so was staying in a hotel. The only place we could go in Manchester where we could be 'intimate' (not talking sex here) was to Canal Street (the gay village as it's known), just ot suss out our compatability. If we'd sat in a straight bar in town and so much as touched eachother intimately, we'd have probably been battered! The other option would've been "do you want to come back to my hotel room?" which I figured might have been a bit forward for a first date?!

Whilst I think they're great places for single gay people to meet like minded (cos 99% of the time you haven't got to suss out whether or not someone is gay first!), I have to say, we don't go there any more; there's no need and in any case it's a little tacky to say the least!

I have to agree with Cxsjr. I am not a person who wants to be at a gay-only this or that place, but sometimes it does help. There are still many people who don't want us to be at the hotel pool holding hands or kissing or being very innocently intimate. They don't want their kids to see it. It doesn't matter that the straight couple next to them is almost having sex...

Now as for gay gyms, saunas and schools, that is something that I do not really see the need for. But, bars and even resorts or hotels that are 'friendly' is something that unfortunately is needed today. I wish it wasn't that way.

Well I don't see the need for people to be intimate in public in the first place (gay or not), but when I really see it as necessary then why go to a special place for it? When I was in Adam with my xbf nobody even turned a head if we held hands downtown or gave eachother a peck on the lips. Even if they did, I don't care what people think, they can take it or leave it, but it won't change my attitude. Anyways, I tend to leave "intimate activities" for home. I can spare people those sights, and I think exactly the same with straight couples. There is no need to go snogging somebody in public or start fondling them. For me that is a private thing and I find it  yuck  when people need to do that in front of others. Sometimes its like "please, get a room"  no

I think that that would be a great idea! People should be able to go places and not feel weird talking about certain things to certain people. Also, there are a lot of gay/bi/les/trans travellers who probably wouldn't mind having some fun while waiting for their next flight. Not me personally, because sex is like the climax, haha. But others might feel differently.

Also, so some straight guy (ewww hate 'em) could walk up in there and try to make fun of people and then we could all make fun of him, hahahaha! It would be so great. They deserve it n e wayz. . .

Also, if they are going to have things for other races and types of people, there should be something for gay/bi/les/trans people because we want to have our own spaces as well. . .

Besides, airports have everything else. You could freaking plan a date to the mall at an airport. I'm surprised they don't have movie theaters yet. So, they might as well have gay bars and dance clubs.
